I don't buy into the theory that starting Sengun automatically = more wins because we're currently losing games at an average of about 10 points every night. I mean if he starts and we start winning more games then great, we just confirmed that Al-P is one of this team's franchise players. But all I want is to see our players get better looks at the basket, more competent ball handling, more ball movement, etc. We can still lose a ton of games with Sengun starting--it's just a matter of how competitive the team is is what I'm more concerned with.

Earlier, my beef was that nobody knew how to move when Sengun had the ball and looked to pass. They were wasting his play making talent.

In the past few games, it has looked better. And he also seems to know better when to be aggressive in scoring and when to look to pass. Less hesitation.

When the opponent knew that you were not trying to score, it made it much harder to make good passes. When he is more decisive and aggressive, the team responds well.

This. It was always going to be a major work in progress this season. I thought we were looking more cohesive but the last two games we could only manage to put out a competitive half in each.

Sengun is just CF’s psychological teddy bear/night lamp right now.

I'm a Sengun homer lol. In a season full of wtf rotations, questionable passing/shooting, and god awful play Alperen's potential has given me hope for the future.

I proposed trading Wood predraft to GSW and using the 7th pick to get Sengun so he has been my guy for a while.

This season was always going to be this chaotic, especially only 12 games in. Sengun only averaged 28MPG over 29 games last season in the Turkish league. I have no problem with anchoring the bench this year.

This was going to be a season where we took inventory on what we have and move on from some players.

Sengun is only 12 games into a 4 year rookie contract for some greater context of where we are.

I love our future when I see Green and Sengun plays, but we need a BIG MAN I really want Ma Bamba but I think Orlando is going to resign him. I would love to get Wiseman from Golden State, I would even give up Gordon and Wood for Wiseman. Wiseman is as talented as Mobley I seen them played against each other and having: Green, Sengun and Wiseman....................this would be our future

yes , I agree . I don’t mind losing if it happens while we are trying to win .

we are stifling the competitive instinct of those young players we just drafted .

it appears al-p is a productive player . Play him . Try to win .

I don't think Silas will start with Sengun. I think he'll bench Green and start with Gordon. But if the "change" he's talking about is Theis getting on the bench and Sengun starting, I'd be happy.

In that case, I think Houston should play Wood and Sengun exactly the way the Pacers played Myles Turner and Sabonis. On offense Sengun should be the main creator with the ball on the top and Wood should stand in the corners, while on defense, Wood should match the opposing center and protect the rim. Sengun, on the other hand, must defend the power forwards. I think everyone agrees that Sengun is a better defender than Wood. That's why he can easily defend the forwards. His feet are no problem in defense because he has a high level of defensive awareness and is a good switch defender. His short stature forces him against tall centers, so he must defend the forwards.

It's not just you. Sengun is an "impact player," and the rest of the team wants to get impacted. ;-)

    nice, thank you!
also shooting coaches and shooting practices out of the regular training sessions must become a thing!

theres no point in nwaba shooting 3s in games if hes not doing 500 hits shootings sessions on a daily basis

i have no problems players missing open shots but it must be noticeable and registered that they are doing major work on correcting mechanics/improving their shot....

I say go small and fast on the starting unit.... KPJ/Nwaba/Gordon/Tate/Wood.

Green and Sengun anchor the bench and get about 25MPG.

Not only do I think Sengun should start, I think he should take the reins and be player-coach like Bill Russell.

I like Wood. I just feel like Sengun will be better and there are holes that need to be filled. Right now the two bigs in the lineup is messing us up. Pick your poison because Sengun is not going to want to come off the bench soon and neither is Wood.
