He had some nice offensive plays to go along with some missed easy ones too. He played AD and Bron about as well as you can play them. Won matchup over DJ several times. He has to work on quite a bit still, but he’s still one of the most consistent players on the team with an amazing upside.
He's a bit timid when it comes to scoring. He needs to be more selfish. Every time he gets the ball, he looks to pass. And his teammates aren't very smart at cutting yet. Learn when to pass and when to get your own shot, Alpi.
I think some of that stuff is unselfishness, some of it is he’s the main screen setter. The catalyst for the offense so to speak. I do wish that some of the guards would reward him off picks and screens. The dude hustles his ass off on D and O
btw some of the calls AD was getting were ridiculous....he was legit getting stopped, he would then fall out of desperation and get the FTs...smh
LeBron and AD were bullying him, using elbows and forearms pushing and shoving. LeBron got called once when it was too blatant. But most of the time they got away with it.
I thought he was a liability out there in the second half. In the first half he definitely handled himself better, but as the game went on it just seemed like he was tentative and even scared. I don't mind giving him minutes, this is a development year anyways, and if we end up with another lottery pick, that's actually not a bad outcome at all.
its foul trouble and having to shoot 3s... its a mistake to make him shoot 3s..its watering down what hes good at.... its not his game even if they sag off of him, hes better off putting it on the floor and attacking or passing...he dont need 3pt shot at least for now...leave it for when he settles in nba...hell be better off polishing his finishing around the rim and perhaps adding a hook shot...
i didnt mind that.... but 2 fouls that AD got by just falling when he couldnt do nothing were eggregious
Alp game gives me young Pau Gasol vibes, he’ll get much better as the season rolls along and gets more used to the speed of the game. That turnover he had to KJ Martin would have been a straight dime if Martin was ready for it.
he tried that pass at least several times on the rockets including the summer league - it never worked... he needs to stop trying that pass and focus on simple things like hitting wide open layups and not fumbling the ball...we could have won last night if he did....
he should never stop trying that pass, his teammates need to be ready for it. He hit Jalen right under the rim in the summer league and Jalen kicked to the corner instead of finishing the layup
so in the end it didnt work... and if we scored out of that possession we win last night.... add up points scored instead of 3s he bricked, easy passes he fumbled and its a blowout win... doing simple things really really good is all that you need to win... theres no need for fancy, supernatural and hard stuff out of your comfort zone and skill level... what these kids really really really need to learn is the value of a single possession... if harden knew it he would be a champion now...
Sure sure. But part of scoring is getting good positions and a lot of bigs don’t know the art and benefit of a repost.
