Papers depend on ads and geezers. Independent or democrat does not endear you you to the money movers or sell papers in Texas, even Houston.

Maybe the Democrats should refuse to fund the government until Ted Cruz resigns his office. BRILLIANT!

    So true

He has completely ostracized himself from his own party outside of Texas. A toxic pariah that no one will want to stand with.

But hey! He got a bunch of suckers to donate to his PAC, so he's get that going for him.

The thing that Texans will start to see is that he has done nothing...absolutely nothing...for the state. Everything he's done since going to Washington has been self serving and related only to national issues. He's done nothing for Texas. He was sent there to represent the state's issues, not as a stepping stone to something bigger. While I have many disagreements with KBH, at least she was there looking out for the best interests of Texas.

He is a wingnut darling, but that does not make him more popular than before. Not everyone wants to destroy the good faith and credit of America.

He has done exactly what I voted for him to do. He owned Reid on the gun legislation push defeating all legislation that would be against our 2nd ammendment right to bear arms. He also has fought Obamacare every inch of the way.

He has also done a good job during the confirmation hearings of several Obama appointees.

Ted Cruz is a very smart man who made a gigantic tactical error this time around. It was obvious he was shooting for higher office the entire time. He thought that this would be his big shot to shore up the Tea Party base and become a household name (which he has done). Unfortunately for him, he got totally owned. He'll be like what Dennis Kucinich was to the Dems. I'm sure he'll run for president and be the extremist candidate, but he shot himself in the foot with this stunt.

psshh people easily forget after 3 years.

Enough time for him to re-invent himself to get re-elected and allow the bumbling idiots at the Texas Dem party to fall on their own banner's sword.

And if you're a Senator for life, greater ambition comes in cycles.

It's a marathon, not a sprint. The Kenyan was an exception.

I thought he's born in Canada? What's all this talk about running for president?

Where are the birthers when you need them?

The only thing Cruz has guaranteed by leading the charge for the shutdown is that he will never sniff the Presidency. Partisan extremists don't get elected. He'll have his Senatorial seat for the rest of his life, but he just shut the door on elevating his career beyond that. VP is probably out of the question, too.

Exactly he is a gun nut and hates giving folks healthcare when for Cruz even the Senate health plan is not lavish enough. Cruz prefers the Goldman Sach's executive plan his wife has.

You've been had Marley. Keeping stroking your handgun, if you must, but try to watch something beside Fox.

BTW, Marley, do you realize Bob Marley was half black, identified with being black and he was not a right winger?

Presuming by Kenyan you mean Obama he isn't that much of an exception. JFK was a relatively junior senator when he got elected and Bill Clinton wasn't very well known on the national stage until 1988. On the Republican side GW Bush had only a term and a half as governor of Texas when he won and for a long time wasn't even considered the most likely Bush brother to run. On the other hand candidates like Bob Dole, Biden and McCain who have long distinguished Senate careers frequently fail in their presidential bids.

So you want him to cause another shutdown, for no gain, in jan/feb? Was his cause was worth the estimated 24 Billion dollars to our economy?

Yeah, refuting garbage and misinformation is not a very worthwhile endeavor.

The dude can't even understand the point of a children's book that he read in the halls of government. I mean, that says it all. I would just play that clip in an ad, and then zoom in on the end of Green Eggs and Ham.
