All that proves is that the Muslim fighters have been cowards for their entire history. LOL

If we are to understand 'others' then explanations would help, no?

I dislike tyranny as well. My post did not mean to seem like I supported people not speaking out against hitler, not at all. My post just stated that it was illegal for people to speak out against him. Do I support the people that did speak out against him, yes sure.

And again with MLK speaking equal rights, no problems with him preaching, but now if he was preaching hatred against people, or any one person, then yes, it would be inappropriate for MLK to speak. you are comparing his speach on and ideology, and again speeches against the Nazi rule, to the slander of a public figure, and the desecration of a religion. Very different rules apply to dealing with those situations

No, and yes. I am not saying that government should censor politcal cartoons because they may offend somoene, but I am saying that Government should censor something that may cause such a worldwide problem.

LOL, American soldiers wear helmets. They are cowards...!

You went to Rice, so you are not uneducated. You know that in desert areas, sandstorms are a huge problem while conducting warfare. You can then understand that the covering is not a means of hiding from the enemy, but as protection from the blistering sands. Their culture is not yours, their military attire is not the same as others. You call them cowards, I call you ignorant.

    And thegary:
You condemn Islam for violence? I forgot that Christianity and Judaism have almost the same punishments, it is only in the secular west where Christianity had to reform or become irrelevant where the punishments were liberalized or banned. It is not hard to comprehend, it was just one of the movements of the 20th century. Also, the focus is not Allah's wrath, but Allah's blessings.

and Mohammad pbuh never preached peace or forgiveness. And do you have any stats for the assumption that MOST of jesus pbuh's followers are peaceful and forgivefull.

Surely thats not the feeling i get when i drive down 59 and am cut off by a guy with a big cross hanging down from his rear view mirror on his huge truck, and then flicked off and stared down...

please dont generalize, you lose credibility when you do that.

    What countries would that be?

no freedom? Arent Pakistan, Iran, Egypt, all kinda democratic?

and last time I checked, the segregation of sexes didnt lead to aggressiveness. The priests and nuns all seem pretty damn unaggressive to me. And so do those monks.

your derailing the thread now, this has nothing to do with the issue, but since you bring it up, WHAT FREEDOMS ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT. People dont hate america for any damn freedoms... DIDNT YOU HEAR OBL'S TAPE. he didnt say that hes gunna attack america bcoz of their freedoms, he said coz we freaking finger ourselves in others politics too damn much.

economy isnt as good as it is over here

in those countries you dont pay taxes, you get free education, and medical treatments.

Seems liek they have some pretty nifty "freedoms" too.

basically it is about religion, I live in HOUSTON TEXAS, i have all the freedoms you do, and yet i am offended by these cartoons. True, I wont burn flags or declare holy war, but tahts because I am educated and know what is right and wrong. You dont punish one for the crim e of another.

Now stop switching the subject in this thread

Man, you and adeel come up with some absolute stunning pieces of work when attempting to defend Islamic cowardice. Sandstorms are the reasons Muslim fighters wear hoods?!?! Riiiiiight. Why not sunglasses? Aren't the hoods hot in that desert heat? LOL.

Let me guess, those Muslim fighters who beheaded Nick Berg needed protection from the intense sandstorms when they chopped his head off. INDOORS.

What a joke you two are. Zero cred.

When you say they, who do you refer to?

Almost all the muslim countries have women working in power, almost all of them have foreign employees, and almost all of them have technology on par with us.

I support the right of anyone to make any cartoons, But i dont support it to be published knowing that it will offend millions of people and do nothing but spread hatred and mistrust between people

people in denmark, france, anyhwere can make fun of your average Muslim, Arab, etc etc and you wont see such an anger, but when you slander someones prophet, be prepared to feel the anger.

I agree that it exists, and I also believe that it should be moderated when need be, as it has been previously.

Except in America that cartoon only gets a letter from the Joint Cheifs and is shown on TV for everyone to see, judge and decide for themselves.

The Danish drawings drew "fatwas" and threats of death and were edited on TV so as not to "offend" any viewers.

I think I should contact Rice, because they obviously gave a degree to the wrong T_J. Yes, sandstorms were the reason why Muslim soldiers and before Islam, the Arab soldiers wore coverings to prevent damage to the eyes and face. And as for sunglasses, when was the last time you saw ANY soldier wear rayban? You, sir, have lost all sanity. To claim Muslim soldiers should have adapted sunglasses instead of covering their faces with cloth is akin to claiming that the US army should fire jellybeans instead of bullets.

So if George Bush censored a piece of art, you'd be fine with that?

I have a feeling you'd decry it as "more of the same" from the administration.

Dude, you're a very respectful poster most of the time so I don't harbor any ill feelings towards you. However, the most important part about the idea of freedom of speech and expression is that one must be willing to give that freedom to any idea at all even those one deems offensive and apalling.

Good, I agree with you here. I hope no innocents are hurt in this whole thing, hope people calm down and just take non-violent measures if they so please in any way they deem fit.

    Dude, it's a CARTOON. That's it. A freakin' cartoon. If you're offended, I understand.

However, you're justifying the actions of these people and that's beyond insane. This outrage is coming from the same people who don't want Christians imposing their will on others.

Some Christians claim homosexuality is against their religion. Should America outlaw all forms of homosexuality? Should those who believe that put on masks and threaten to kill all homosexuals and bomb San Francisco?

No, because it's r****ded. If it's r****ded when Christians do it, it's r****ded when others do it as well.

again, i repeat the statement of shouting fire in a room full of people. You just cant do it.

Freedom is 100% gauranteed, until it nudges into someone elses territory....

so basically what im trying to say in easy terms is, stay free as you want in your bubble, the minute you get in mine and harass me, ima slap you in the head.

see, this is where i have a problem. this seems like a flaw in your religion. making fun of the prophet is a punishable offense. who judges this? who carries out the punishment. help me understand. azadre and adeel, i am not picking on islam, i could say far worse things about christianity because i know far more about it and about "christians", but give me a break, death to denmark? it's like that whole thing with sasha cohen portraying borat. SO WHAT? chill out.
