yeah, once michael found out it was a practical joke from a former collegue, and not current denizens of the office, he didn't seem to mind someone had flung poo on his carpet.
That's not our place to decide, its the Dane's. Ok, but why is it blasphemous to portray the prophet? I agree. It is totally within a Muslim's right to take their business elsewhere.
That is incredible Basso, I was going to point out the Dane's fierce resistance to the Nazi regieme and how much they did to help Jews under persecution before I saw your post...you and your family must be very proud, what a shame that you or the world can't know your great-uncle today--by all accounts a very special and highly honrable man.
yeah, i wish i knew more about him, i don't even know his name! all the relatives from the old country, including my old man, are gone now. my dad used to talk about having his violin case searched at road blocks on the way to a lesson on his bike (his father played in the danish national symphony). don't know if any of you ever saw a dutch film called "A Soldier of Orange." although about holland under the occupation, my dad said it was pretty close to what it was like in denmark, including the incredible speed w/ which the nazi occupied the country. great film, w/ the young rutger hauer.
And that is why I have issued a FARTwah against Fatwahs...would would Jesus do indeed--"pull my finger, my son".
It's just cheese, Uprising, you should be alright with Bulgarian/Dutch dairy products when you're in Jeddah.
"During World War II the Danish People succeeded in frustrating Nazi Germany's intentions of deporting Denmark's 8,000 Jews to death camps in the east. The deportations which were to be part of "The Final Solution" for the destruction of European Jewry, was set in Denmark for the first of October, 1943. A courageous rescue operation was carried out by the members of the Danish underground which assisted 7,200 Jews to escape to Sweden. This boat smuggled Jews from the coast of Denmark, near the town Gilleleje to waiting fishing boats at sea, which continued their journey to Sweden." at the end of the war, a total of 51 danish jews had died in nazi camps.
and thats why their economy is paying the price for it. if im not mistaken, like mr max said, its partly due to idolatary that would eventually spew from pictures, sculptures, and drawings, and also partly because the fact that people will start drawing pictures to make the guy look like they want him to, like buddah for example, skinny indian prince turned into some asian looking chubby man with a bald head. ----
I do see the difference, ofcourse I do. But the point is that to some people there is no difference. Desecrating the prophet even in the slightest way, even without intention to do so, even just for a joke is worse to them than some random guy joking around in the theatre shouting that there is a bomb in the place.
actually its all dutch products... people are even boycotting products taht seem to be dutch, like nido milk, or those frocher chocolates.
Apparently the fleeting moment in time when the French showed a little backbone and stood up to the Islamocists has now passed and they are acting, well - French. http://www.guardian.co.uk/religion/Story/0,,1700224,00.html
Do Muslims really believe that they are going to get sex with hoardes of virgins in heaven? I question the wisdom behind that enticement. That's a recipe for a lot of blood, knees and elbows. I'll take the savvy veteran with the experience, thank you very much.
the hypocrisy over this issue from places like Saudi Arabia is amazing. anyway, now that germany has also published the cartoons, i wonder if those rich arabs are going to be boycotting mercedez and bmw too. i doubt it.
This is really a war against Western culture, and Western culture better realize it before it's too late. http://www.nytimes.com/2006/02/02/i...danish.html?_r=2&oref=slogin&pagewanted=print
