I wonder if the Muslim world realizes that if they incite a world war, that the predominantly Christian Western world has all the big guns?

It makes no sense, and it is only driving a wedge further between the middle east and the rest of the world.

It seems to me that the Muslim religion is in some serious growing pains, and needs to address the view that it begets violence, or even encourages it.

If it is to survive as a legitimate religion it will need to turn far more peaceful in nature.

I hear from several people that it is a religion of peace, yet things like this show that not everyone in that faith shares the same view point.

Got to put a stop to this nonsense before it gets to a world war, in which ALL of the power resides in the west. Christians will get tired of the whining and complaining and of being targeted, and will soon begin to view Muslim peoples as objects, and not humans, and that is when real violence will begin.

And, the world would be a FAR worse place with another holy war....but it sure looks like that is the way all of this is going.

Maybe GWB is actually the first Christian to stand up......I hope not.

When we get Iraq under control, then we can talk about a world war...

Did you just say "Christian West"? LOL! The West has abandoned Christianity a LOOOONG time ago. There is nothing "Christian" about the West anymore, I wish the West was more "Christian".

BTW, in case you're unaware, there have already been countless attacks against mosques right here in the United States, you just don't hear or read about them; there have been over a thousand "hate crimes" targeting "Muslim-looking peoples" (mostly Sikhs), but again the media is not big on reporting those, I wonder why...

I agree there is an overreaction and violence isn't the answer, because the prophet himself would not have responded in this manner for mere personal insults; those Muslims are doing more damage to their religion than they think, their level of ignorance about their own religion is astounding.

DaDa, this is not the 13th century anymore, there won't be any "Holy Wars", especially since the West is multi-racial and multi-ethnic society, including nearly 30-40 million + Muslims who live in the West and call it home.

Also, to call European societies "Christian" is laughable, you must not be aware of the fact that Europe is very, very secular and mostly anti-religion; a politician in Europe would be in deep trouble if he invokes the name of God.

Give us numbers. And don't give us numbers from CAIR because it is a terrorist organization.

By the way, shouldn't the actions of the Syrian government agianst the Norwegian and Danish emabassies be considered acts of war against two NATO countries?

As for your other point, what numbers are you looking for specifically?

If CAIR is a terrorist organization, then the GOP is a subset of the Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei

Numbers on attacks on Mosques. These numbers must come from an objective source rather than from CAIR.

    Tiger,

You are correct of course, the Western world is not Christian by and large, it is clearly diversified.

However, I guess my point was the Western world vs the Middle East.

LOL China would crumble beneath the force of the West in a matter of days.

Last time I checked they weren't a Muslim country, LOL, but they do like Muslim oil.

CAIR is a Muslim civil rights organization (akin to the NAACP or LULAC), what they say matters because they're interested in the matter, they're likely the only organization that is interested in tallying these types of incidents (some of which are nothing more than reports of anti-Muslim incidents); keep in mind that CAIR merely collects data of those who contact them or the police to report such incidents, which likely doesn't reflect the true number of such incidents (some people I know have experienced hateful and racist rhetoric directed at them, but they didn't run to the police to report it or contact CAIR or someone else, they just brushed it off).

Your distrust of them is your own problem, but as things stand, CAIR and ADC are the only organizations that tally reports of anti-Muslim bias, since they're the ones most interested in it, so you can dismiss these reports if you wish, it's your prerogative; it would be like dismissing the ADL's reports on anti-Semitism. Anyways, CAIR has asked the FBI and law enforcement officials in the past to be more proactive in receiving and keeping tally of anti-Muslim bias, but so far they haven't.

Anyways, just to give you a small glimpse from 'headlines' around the world about attacks against Muslims, mosques, and the such in the West...

    1) More than 20 attacks on mosques in Netherlands, including arson fire in the Moroccan embassy:

    2) Attacks against several mosques in Britain and more reports of incidents in Britain:

    3) Incidents in Australia:

    4) Latest report about anti-Muslim bias/attacks etc from CAIR:

    5) ADC report on hate crimes:

    Just a few examples...

So what's the point, bigtexxx, are you basically providing proof that many Americans secretly harbor racist views? Of course, you're right, and it's somewhat reflected in our society, the internet only makes it easier to express those views because people can hide behind a virtual mask...thank God we're a country of law and order that prevents most people from acting on their particular prejudices, or otherwise things would get ugly.

Chinese Muslims are the only religious group that are not persecuted.

So you are saying that most of the Muslim countries in the Middle East are not countries of law?

Because it is pretty ugly over there right now...burning embassies, blowing themselves up, hating on the rest of the world.
