Don't know how reliable this source is: <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>More Embiid fallout. Lakers could move Nash and #7 to Philly for MCW and T Young. 76ers would take Exum at #3.</p>— Russillo (@ryenarussillo) <a href="https://twitter.com/ryenarussillo/statuses/479969545507971072">June 20, 2014</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
Who would Philly target at #7? Will Embiid fall that far? Are they looking at Vonleh? Randle? Gordon? Philly certainly keeps it interesting.
MCW is a decent player but nothing special. Maybe a good 6th man at some point. Definitely a good trade for Philly. I dont get this for LA- but I like it because I hate them. Although I wouldnt mind Thad Young here.
MCW / Kobe / Young / Gasol could be solid, but only if Gasol stays... ...and if LAL suddenly played in the East.
We have Bev and Lin. Even if Lin was shipped off, I don't think either Bev nor MCW would love to be on the bench, substituting for the other guy.
Morey is a fan of analytics. MCW does not look good at all under most advanced stats because he turns the ball over constantly and is super, super, super inefficient scoring.
So the Sixers could get possibly Wiggins/Parker at 3, Smart at 7, and Nik at 10? If Philly thinks MCW won't be as good as Smart then they make this move.
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Also rumors of any sort of MCW deal to Lakers - I've heard aren't accurate - but then lots of lies this time of year</p>— Eric Pincus (@EricPincus) <a href="https://twitter.com/EricPincus/statuses/480246016550006784">June 21, 2014</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
...but MCW, Kobe, Carmelo, Lebron, and Pau would be a decent starting 5. The best thing about MCW is that he only costs $2.2M per season. For what he brings to the table, $2.2M is a nice price tag. I think players should be judged by their productivity per dollar. If Carmelo is not interested in taking a pay cut, then he can't be on this Laker team.
