Bang-for-the-buck is subjective. For me, it was the Acura. For others, it's the Lexus. For no one should it be Audi.
Nowadays, if you want to "buy American", you should probably buy a Camry or Accord (I know, I know...) : http://www.cars.com/go/advice/Story.jsp?section=top&subject=ami&story=amMade0611
I was actually suggesting 25% of a single year's salary for total purchase price: like $15k purchase price on $60k salary, so I think the numbers in rockbox's rebuttal were correct.
Alright I found a car already but it's out of state (Georgia). Bought it off of Ebay and paid 500 deposit down on the car. What's the next actions that I need to take? Should I get an third-party inspection done on the vehicle with about 23k miles and has all the service record enclosed to me?
Yeah, that would be hard. If you could swing it that would be great since you would be able to save up a bunch. Considering most cars can easily last 8 years, you would only be spending $2-3k a year on the car note (inc. interest).
My 2009 Hyundai Genesis Tech Package with Genesis Emblems on the Front Hood, Trunk, Wheels, and Steering Wheel for only $25K
Get something interesting and old that will at least make people on the street have something fun to look at instead of just another douchebag mobile. Maybe you could get one of those Oscar Meyer Weiner hot dog cars - I hear that those are great for 'driving enthusiasts' because they are 'precision crafted' for 'expert drivers' who 'love to drive' to the bank or the grocery store or whatever.
