Everyone keeps talking about the value of expiring contracts. The CBA is up THIS YEAR !!! The new one will be much different, so expiring contracts in 2 years might not be worth squat. Win now......We got Badiane and Spanolis growing overseas.... Mo T is an anchor on this team. PJ makes us better..... Who needs another Boki, or Collier, or Drew, or Turcsan..etc..etc..etc... PJ Fits NOW !! DD
we all certainly expected that Rice's expiring contract would have been worth more didnt we? You cant always say that expiring contracts are worth alot...obviously.
The new one may or may be a lot different, but one thing I will guarantee: There will be a salary cap. As long as there's a salary cap, expiring contracts will be important for teams worried about their financial situations. Further, even if things are changed, it will be a few years before things are integrated (ie, the rookie scale contracts- it was 4 yrs before the first class became restricted free agents).
I agree with Dakota - Brown is a better fit to help Yao rebound and protect Yao. That Makes PJB more valuable than Taylor. Good move by rockets to Preserve our tender yao....
You're asking us to believe that NBA teams spend alot of time scrimmaging fastbreaks and that Johnny Davis in 1 preseason accomplished more than both Rudy T and JVG. Sorry, I'm not buying either. If Sura and Wesley knew in advance of coming to the Rockets how to run a fastbreak it's because they're decent passers and learned to break on their HS teams.
mo and a pick for PJ might be a little too mutch for my taste. if we got a second rounder back, or even a future pick, i would be ok with that trade.
PJ Brown looked pretty damn good against JH and YM the other night. He is the dream PF combo for Yao. Rebounds, plays hard, leader, hits the 15ft and can't post up. What if he is like T-Rex and can play til he's 45. He looks the part. I say MoT and a conditonal 1st rounder .... to be used by 2015.
as many times as I hear Willis described as TRex, it's still always funny as hell...there is no better nick name in the NBA than that!
