I love the way some people bad-mouth moneyball with such venom, as if Morey were sitting in his office with his face glued to spreadsheets and refusing to watch a second of video. Like he's some kind of accountant who's not the least bit interested in the real-life aspects of personnel decisions. Morey's a GM who emphasizes certain stats more than they've been emphasized historically by GMs. That doesn't mean he lives and dies by those stats or that they're his only criteria for making decisions. Man, some of you folks react to the idea of moneyball the same way a PETA member reacts to a fur coat.
