And I'm inclined to side with you. What do you have to win by keeping him? He's shot and as physically tough as he is, he seems to be a mental midget. So we end up cutting him and getting nothing. Letting him ride the pine and getting nothing. Or trading him and maybe getting something.
I agree, take what you can and move on. Is that really his bro? If Kubiak was saying those things to bob allen recently then they really are done with him. Why pile on him like that, the fanbase is already calling for his head, that just makes it worse. Doesn't help tradewise, so they probably know what his value is. I think they have their minds made and are just letting things unfold. Hopefully something will happen around draft time.
If that's what's required, make the deal. Leak should be available with Oakland's 4th. (Unless this Schaub thing works out.)
I guess since they traded away a bunch of draft picks to get a new QB to replace Carr I was wrong here.
or scrambling to replace the banner at houstonprofootball.com? Seriously, all gloating should be set aside until Carr is traded, if indeed he gets traded. And even then, it should all be done in good humor and good taste. It was a reasonable theory Ric had.
I hope Oakland really wants Calvin Johnson and Carr as their replacement QB, maybe we can then finagle a 2nd rounder out of them.
I don't care if we trade for Schaub or my uncle or your momma. Until CARR is off this team, CARR is still your starting quarterback. And I don't care if you say "SwoLy, just give it up, man... that's what that DUMB Casserly-esque TRADE means... Carr will be gone, man!" and you're a football guru (like McClain, who said "The Texans will pick Vince Young with their #1 pick" last year , shah, right...) but you can't speculate sh*t. F*CK. Ya'll are making this sh*t so difficult...
Dude have you paid attention to Kubiak at all? He dogs Carr after games. You don't think he's pissed at him? This whole QB dilemma will make or break Kubiak's career as a headcoach in the NFL. His job in other words. Of course he gives a damn. If Rosenfels hadn't broken his hand, Carr may have not been the Texan's starting QB going into the final games of last season. He very well may give him another chance, but if the team starts off losing again, you can be assured Carr will be done away with for good.
Yeah, the Texans are going to move down in the draft and trade two second rounders for a backup to Carr... Yeah...
What has EVERYBODY been saying? We're signing so and so for Carr... we're trading with the Vikes and the Bucs for Moss and the Oakland Raiders entire team... and what has happened? NOTHING. STFU, you football gurus... __________________
wow...you honestly believe that? you honestly believe they'd sign schaub to a long-term contract and keep carr around? sage too? i can't believe that you honestly believe that. he will be traded or released, swoly. let me save you the suspense now. he's gone. my son took his poster off his closet wall today, so it's official around these parts.
I don't "honestly" believe anything. I honestly believe that until a move is made on ONE player, then we can decide about that player. Trading up or down and getting one guy definitely does not mean another guy's destiny is etched. You didn't have to bring your son into this, man. What, he's been reading the TEXANS' front-office MEMOs?? C'mon, man... you have been telling him stories and having him read the McClain so-called predictions. What, your son is NOSTRADAMUS, or what?
Is any one else worried now that Carr really has no value? If we sign Schaub to a starter's contract, everyone will know that we will have to release him. Don Banks already mentioned it as a possibility, and I'm sure other writers will follow suit. I hope we can salvage something for him...he still has the potential to be pretty good in this league for another team.
So you believe the Texans traded two draft picks for a possible backup QB? That would make the Texans the single stupidest franchise in the history of the NFL. Is that the argument you'd like to make?
Swoly, be reasonable. The writing's on the wall. The more all-capped, f-bomb laced posts you throw up about how Carr's going to stay, the bigger your helping of crow is going to be when he's gone. It is not a "betrayal" of the Texans to point the fact that their QB sucks. It is in the Texans' best interest to change their QB, and it appears they have done so. Best wishes to DC and his family.
