He didnt play good. He was mediocre at best. if all you want out of him is 150-175 passing yds a game, I geuss you were satisfied with his performance. However, i think 170 passing yds and no throwing TDs for a fifth year QB who was the first overall pick is pretty dismal. I expect much more out of him but that wont ever happen because he is not a leader and he is not a WINNER.
Please. You act like he's never thrown for over 300 yds. The truth is somewhere in between the drivel posted above and the "rah! rah! Carr will be a perennial pro-bowler!" take.
This article points out the main reason why I think Kubiak is the perfect coach for this team. His approach starts at the fundamental level. After reading this article, I believe that Kubiak will have more than he needs at the end of this season to determine if Carr will be the long-term answer for this team. http://chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/fb/texansfront/4315381.html It seems pretty cut and dry. When Flan stepped on his foot, my gut reaction was, "Hey watch out for the guys foot". Now I'm like, "Carr, focus". His footwork will make or break him.
Awesome read. Thanks for that. It's rare to find analysis that good in the Comical. Now I'll be watching dude's feet if I get to watch at all this Sunday.
i like how his touchdowns don't count if he's not passing. 8 of the 14 winning QBs this week threw for less than 200 yards, and 5 of those 8 threw either 1 or no touchdowns. this notion that a QB has to throw for 300 yards and 3 TDs for a team to win is bull****. troy aikman was 3-22 in his first 25 games in the NFL; steve young began his career 4-28; warren moon's first three years, he was 13-35. all three are in the HoF. players aren't WINNERS; teams are.
i'm not a fan of the previous regime by any stretch of the imagination. but i can understand entirely why they were doing that.
really? let me guess - because of his sidearm delivery? what's that they say about not being able to manage the big things, so you manage the small things......? they were clueless.
not sidearm delivery...the fact he seems to have a hard time throwing with touch...that he seems to have an abnormally large number of balls batted down at the line.
The pic said the ladders were used "in place of offensive lineman". Nice. Run drills with dude with offensive lineman that never move. That'll prepare him for real game action.
abnormally large number of balls batted down abnormally large number of balls batted down abnormally large number of balls batted down abnormally large number of balls batted down abnormally large number of balls batted down abnormally large number of balls batted down
honestly, yes...because they're tall. because they were trying to get him to throw with some sense of trajectory...with some sense of touch. at least sometimes. if i remember correctly, this was after a game where he had a bunch of balls batted down at the line. a bunch of balls batted down at the line. a bunch of balls batted down at the line.
