So, the time has come. I'm looking at a new carpool worthy, three row crossovers/suv's that have a decent ground clearance. I'm having a hard time with most of the offerings by Honda, Toyota, Nissan, etc. They just don't look like cars that I could seriously drive. I'm thinking about and Explorer or Expedition. There's also the VW Atlas that hasn't hit the market yet - might just look interesting/mysterious because it isn't out - grass is always greener. Anyone have any thoughts/experience? Something that doesn't feel like the minivans of 2017 . . .
Hoping for 40k-ish and under. I'm thinking I'll just end up with an Explorer, but they just seem like they are everywhere. I'm also looking at 2014's and 2015's to get a better bang for $$$.
I drove a Pilot and LOVED it. Ended up selling it and buying something more economical to just drive to and from work every day (50 mile round trip) since we already have an SUV in the family that's paid off....
Go for a used 2015 Highlander with relatively low mileage. Are they sexy or mysterious? No, but great SUVs should last you forever. here's your options basically: https://cars.usnews.com/cars-trucks/rankings/suvs-with-3-rows I've always been a bit attracted to Volkswagens... but with the scandal, with the Atlas being new, and frankly the Atlas is not that pleasing on the eyes if you ask me, see not reason to go for that.
