Thats one that I'm not too sure about either. I don't think Rudy is ready to start Griffin yet unless he has improved and developed some inside post moves in the offseason. If the Rockets draft Nachbar will he be ready to start immediately? If they can't get rid of Rice they might just start him at the beginning of the year... but I'm sure he won't be starting for long.

heypartner. as I remember it. KT got injured and Eddie got his position and played well. Rudy has the no loss of starting position rule so what to do? He put KT at small forward and called it an "experiment". It only lasted a few games and I believe another injury or possibly poor play by EG led to KT going back to pf.

At any rate. I believe KT was not a big failure by any means.

From nbadraft.net:

Will be able to help a team right away as he is probably more NBA ready than any player in the draft after becoming one of the key players on a Final Four Euroleague team, Benneton Treviso.

If Nachbar is really a cross of Peja and Turkoglu than we can't pass on him. If he's not in their class, I still really want to see Chris Jeffries as a Rocket.

MoTay will not start. He has other thing to take care of first. ;)

Francis
Mobley
Rice
Thomas
Cato

Also - I think Rockets want to pick Nachbar, but that he will not be available at 15.

I agree.

The "Rice Experiment" was more successful?

I would rather see EG or KT in the starting line up.

Why not? KT is the most underated player on this team. He has done everything the Rockets have asked him too since he got here. His game has improved every year. All he needs to do is improve his range. If he can develop a consistant outside shot he would be a very good SF, IMO.

Sure, winner get an all expenses paid week in New Jersey. Loser gets two weeks. :p

Seriously, as an aging vet it will be far easier on him to start since he're already warmed up. It's easier on a young guy to sit on the bench and then have to come in and play. One of the Rockets' biggest problems has been digging themselves into a hole early, and having a proven scorer like Rice on the floor would help steady the team. Plus Rudy loves him.

I say this assuming he's 100%, of course, but he started last year at 70% so I don't see why he wouldn't be capable of starting again in 02-03. If the Rockets land an NBA ready 3 via #15 or MCE, Rice might come off the bench as a zone buster, but then again he may start as the zone buster. I think he's the likely starter, but his minutes may not end up being starter's minutes...
