My preference would be these in this order. Ronnie Brewer 6-7 217 SG Arkansas Jr. Rodney Carney 6-7 205 SF Memphis Sr. Marcus Williams 6-2 200 PG UConn Jr.
JJ's college career was outstanding. Without question. IMO, words such as "outstanding" in relation to Redick, have come to an end, and now will only be heard in regards to his time at Duke. I could be proven wrong, but I just do not see a one-dimensional, undersized, slow-footed, shooting guard having a noteworthy impact despite his quick release. I am by no means saying that the Rockets need a 3rd star, but they without a doubt need a player that is capable of doing more on the court than Redick.
Meanwhile nbadraft.net has the Rockets picking Marcus Williams, instead of Shelden Williams (draftexpress.com's selection). Nbadraft.net also has the Rockets picking P.J. Tucker at 32, while DraftExpress.com has the Rockets taking Alexander Johnson.
I don't think nbadraft.net has updated theirs yet, we'll have to see how they work it with the Raps at #1...although i don't imagine much will change in regards to who they select for us.
I just don't understand the people who want Redick. Here we have Yao picking up foul after foul because our guards are too slow and constantly get blown by, and you want JJ Redick? Sure, he can shoot, but he'd be not only a huge defensive liability but a huge offensive liability too. Every time he gets beat by the man he's covering is a chance Yao picks up the foul that puts him on the bench. Yao on the bench = our offense suffers. Seriously, say no to Redick unless he drops to the second round. (and incidentally, I won't be surprised if he comes close to doing just that)
Redick is not that slow. I can easily see him working his feet quicker if he doesn't have to carry the load on offence. With T-Mac and Yao out there, Redick won't have to pace himself.
He got less, but I think that's an over-statement. I would love to see our shooting improve, but I just don't know if I'm willing to sacrifice quickness and athleticism for it. I don't think Redick will ever be a starter in the NBA. Actually, here's another tip jar bet! DaDakota, hold me to it - if JJ Redick starts a single game in the 2006-2007 season I'll drop 20 in the tip jar. And what the hell, nobody will probably remember but if he ever starts more than ten games in a season, no matter how far into his career, I'll drop 20 in the tip jar.
i thought i read here that nbadraft.net just ranks their players based on talent and not whose actually picking...i could be wrong though.
That's right. draft.net doesn't put any input on team needs or whatever. That's what draftexpress does.
