You know, bashing Carmelo for Denver's first-round exits.... Granted, the star player bears some responsibility. But when he was playing with AI, who actually believed AI + Melo was a good match? As for playing with Chauncey, well, this year, the team was going through quite a bit. I'm no George Karl fan, but I wish him all the best in his recovery, even at the expense of Denver improving this year (easy enough for me to wish that now, they have even more troubles). The team was playing under the stewardship of Adrian Dantley this past season, and no personal offense to the man, but I've never seen such a passive, silent coach. The team was kind of left to its own devices. Again, not to make excuses, but a successful team needs a strong head coach, and cannot put two mega-chuckers out there on the floor together.
Yep at the time that is exactly how I felt, and still do....because of what we would have to give up. Again...I want to see WHAT THIS TEAM CAN DO....then address the changes. CP3 though would be an upgrade, there is no denying that, I just personally do not like him. Whatever.......you guys go on with "Melo" drama 2010....and I will sit back and see what happens. If he comes here, I will cheer for him....if not......that is good for me...too. DD
Dude you're serious? The guy is one of the biggest floppers around! especially since he's lost his quickness which was avreage to begin with.
The answer to all of this is very simple. Billups make the highlights making these three point shots, Jello Anthony is jealousy and wants to have all the highlights. Besides that Billups speaks English and is a good interviewer. That is why Jello Anthony would find it a difficult thing to play with Yao Ming as second or third fiddle to the King Pin.
only if you mean elitely paid. And how exactly is he gonna score with Yao clogging the paint? Give me Bosh over Melo any day....and I don't like Bosh
LOL what does this prove? Rafael Araujo was a proven winner in college too. Michael Beasley put up 20-20s on a nightly basis. Demarcus Cousins posted one of the highest PERs in college history, better than Hakeem or Tim Duncan. Saying Melo was a winner in NCAA is like V-span saying he's Tmac in Greece.
Not quite. Melo came into the NBA and helped turn a really horrible team around immediately. He's been the best player on a playoff team every year of his career.
I'm not saying Melo isn't good, he quite obviously is. However the way I see it Melo is yet another 2nd tier player making max money. He brings horrible D, average rebounding and virtually no perimeter scoring. He has above average, "elite" even mid-range and post scoring abilities, however its mitigated by his refusal to take the hit and get Fts, Let's not forget how shady his character is as well, appearing in a "don't snitch" gang video and that incident where he sucker-punched a player then back-peddled away. IMHO he's just not a good fit. I definitely hope NY gets him. Amare, Melo on a D"antoni system? LOL even the bobcats will score 120 pts on that!
