LA doesn't need a third team to give Denver cap relief. They have enough with their $5 million TPE and the 25% rule that they could single-handedly take Denver clear out of luxury tax.
I think the lakers will try hard to do this trade. Kobe is declining. They need another star player to build around for future.
Even more better would be if Melo goes to the Lakers and the Finals matchup consists of Boston and SA.
For an injury proned tracy morgan look alike? At this point, not much seperates the NBA from the WWE so I guess it's a fair deal for the lakers.
Broussard said financially a bynum for melo deal would work straight up. Just depends on if the nuggets want more or not.
Not watching NBA if this happens. Time to move on to other sports. This sport is in total shambles with thesuperstars running this league and Stern. Absurdly slanted trades in favor of good teams.
Anthony for Bryant makes sense. Lakers can replace their 33yo star wing with a 26yo star wing to keep competing for championships. And Denver can still try to compete in the final couple of seasons of Kobe's window of opportunity with Nene, Billups, etc. Likewise, Anthony for Gasol. Trading away Kobe would make more sense, so you can pair a star wing with a star big. But, since the Lakers realistically can't trade away Kobe, trading Gasol for a younger superstar still makes some sense. And, Denver would still have a half-decade to do something worthwhile with him. Anthony for Bynum though makes no sense, at least for Denver. He's a cap albatross and will never be healthy enough to do anything worthwhile for Denver.
Kobe = LBJ, Melo<Wade, Pau>Bosh. I say Wash but Pau is more ahead of Bosh than Wade is ahead of Melo. Pau and Kobe are tested, and LBJ is a proven quitter. I won't name call, don't mean to upset the LBJ fans. To reprhase, Kobe deals with adversity better than LBJ.
