Why is everyone so shocked? He wants glamor. Championships can come later, once they get Chris Paul. Until then, he can work on his real career, being a d-list celebrity.

    1. More contract money
    2. More endorsement money
    3. wife is happy
    4. wife gets more money
    5. Basically playing at home.

I dont see why some people think that a player who wants to win can only achieve it by taking the easiest route there. It seems the like the option that makes the most sense, but I think we often forget it is a job afterall, which means players often make career decisions that give them the best shot to win AND help their family. In this case, it's helping out his family more through the five things listed above, and not helping him as much to win. However, those 5 things are difficult for any player to achieve simultaneously during his career, so he's probably more "stupid" not to go for that, than simply not going to winning team. With the team moving soon, a nice "core", and a hungry owner, building a winner may not be as difficult as some make it seem...

    Not so fast my friends...

NYDNInterNets Denver and Utah holding up the deal at this point. Other teams on board. Denver wants better deal. Don't understand their Noah fascination

    It doesn't matter.

Freakin World Wide Wes and Lala are gonna make Denver trade him to the Nets either way.

Seems like Denver is giving Chicago one last chance to cough up Noah.

As for Utah... not sure what their issue is. Diaw too fat for them? Diaw's contract too fact for them? They got emotionally attached to the silly Russian kid? Hmmm.

Edit: Eh never mind about the contract. Diaw's money is much less than AK's, and he's also expiring.

It makes the picks more valuable because it cockblocks Melo from going to NY.

Also the Nets and Bobcats get significantly better, reducing the chance of NY making the playoffs.

Not a bad haul? In two years Favors alone will be worth more than Carmelo "AI's succesor" Anthony, not to mention an expiring contract and a useful player in Kirilenko and some picks. Hopefully Melo's perfomance on the Nets will show you guys he's not a max player. At all.

As for me, I couldn't be happier. Melo goes to the East to battle with the Celts, Orlando, CHicago and Miami, as a side effect NY has a worse record and the West actually becomes easier. Best case scenario for us...

Probably Hayward...he may be strong enough mentally to handle the starting job at the 3, no room for Diaw there or at the 4, and the SG spot isn't for him either.

Diaw fits well with them, but it may best to plug their HUGE hole at SG using AK. Right now they have a 34 yr old Bell, coming off an injury, at that spot.

Until the signatures are on the dotted lines, there is always a chance. Perhaps Morey can pry Fesenko from Utah as part of this deal.

For 2011, Rockets gets a better chance at draft pick swap with NY for a lotto pick instead of a non-lotto pick.

For 2012, Rockets get a better chance at another lottery pick, if CP3 has a promise to follow Carmelo like LeBron's promise to Wade. Nets get better than NY again. NY left out in the cold again.

Nets will suck next year but when they get CP3, they'll be legit.

I went on that twitter, but couldn't find this. Maybe he deleted it?

Anyways, I don't see how much of a better deal Denver could get. They get a pretty decent player in AK47 who could win them games and is a large expiring contract, plus they get their man in Favors. Don't forget about the picks as well.

We could not have offered a better deal. Sadly all this asset accumulating is put to no use.
