Sources speculated that Melo simply wants to be a Free Agent in 2011 and won't sign an extension with anyone... No Extension No Trade. 1 minute ago

He won't even sign an extension with the Magic or Bulls if the Nuggets do decide to trade with them?

Surely playing alongside D-Rose and Boozer for years to come or playing along with the most dominant center in the league in Howard, he would be a fool not to sign that extension.

Maybe everyone is right that winning is not on his mind and all he cares about is fame.

If Melo wants to go to NJ or NY over Houston or Chicago he's dumber than I had originally speculated.

    agreed.

But, I will hate Melo more than James.

James is for Champion, but Melo is for $.

It's not Carmelo, it is his family... He wants to find a good situation for everyone, including his wife...

    40% chance the trade happens...

Getting Randolph means we'll help out the Knicks. I'll pass. Either we get Melo or nothing. Throw in Galo.. maybe.

Seems Kobe talked Melo in to just leaving as a free agent.
The west will be weaker with no return for Melo. Easier for the Fakers.
Melo doesn't want a trade because it weakens the team he goes to.
He will just probably just f over Denver and sign with NY next season.
It looks like a 50-50 chance depending on how bad and how soon he wants out.

if melo comes out and says i wont sign an extension with anyone but the knicks, no other team will be willing to trade for him. therefor the nugs can either let him walk next sumer and get nothing for him or trade him for whatever they can get from the knicks now.

i believe they will take the crappy trade which means the rockets can send a first rounder for a guy like randolph or chandler (whichever the nugs don't want.

all makes sense....all signs pointed to "knicks or bust....unless its Chicago" from day 1 and by not signing an extension w the Nets or anyone else not named the Knicks or Bulls....

He risks losing some max $$$ and years after the new CBA (not to mention the risk of getting injured which is why CAA was probably shoving the Nets down his throat) but I guess he figures he can recoup all of that thru marketing in NY (altho he does a fair amount of marketing already).

Winning cures all......if we are a solid contender at the deadline, and Yao is healthy and not showing signs of injuries past, my guess is that Morey makes another run at melo in Feb and maybe he has a change of heart about Houston
