AK47 nor his agent know anything about this trade.

More reasons as to why I think it won't happen.

For some reason I kind of agree though with Kidd and others. This Nets thing sounds great for Denver just because they fear Carmelo playing anywhere on the West coast even though its unreasonable fear and we are not their rivals in any way. I just dont see how Nets are somehow fame and glory for LALA and Carmelo over say the Rockets? At all. Everyone knows winning wise they wont sniff the Rockets even by adding Melo next year. So thats not one of my other reasons I am thinking but it could be for Carmelo. I am not sold on the Nets deal yet either. I almost think Morey will swoop in last second and seal the deal now. After he was lowballing them to pull the better deal later out.

People never know about trades until it's completed (unless they're the one pushing the trade). You don't remember Carl last year, he told how he just got off the plane from a game, got a call, and he was traded. There's hardly ever any warning for players, besides rumors in the press.

The west is to tough for Melo. He knows he can take a team in the east that is not as good farther into the playoff.

Really? All he has to do is get past the Lakers in the depleted West that lost Amare, Boozer, and those two teams challenging him plus a aging San Antonio and Lakers teams? He feels its better choice to join the East with a going into prime trio of the Heat, Magic, Celtics, Bulls and all of those teams are young except the Celtics? I fail to see the logic there since Denver nearly reached the Finals in the tougher West before they lost these guys to the East who added Boozer to the Bulls and Amare to the Knicks. There is absolutely no logic in this anymore. Lakers are the final and only hurdle here now. Aging Kobe.

West being tough is over now. Utah is now no longer Boozer country. Amare is gone. Nash is aging. Kobe is aging. San Antonio is on their last lifeline. East is now the powerhouse. Lakers are the only threats here now. I can name three teams in the East who could win it all. Just one here. Lakers. Maybe the Rockets with Carmelo?

take that with a grain of salt...dude could have claimed to know inside info to get paid or something in return from the journalist...if the source is just a friend he's got nothing to lose by lying.

You could argue Jefferson is a star as well, their stats are very very similar and jefferson gives you some extra shot blocking. What keeps boozer from being superstar is the ability to score at will, and if he doesnt have that, then he's just putting up stats for the most part, and Jefferson matches those stats.

Minny didnt want jefferson because he's not a true center and he was making too much money on a team that wasnt ready to compete and wouldnt be for a while. Didnt make sense to keep him and take up that much salary.

You seriously think only the Lakers could win a finals matchup with an Eastern team?

When did the Magic become so much more formidable over the off-season? Is Chicago really good enough that the Thunder/Blazers/Rockets/Mavs/Spurs might as well forfeit rather than play them? Boston?

To me, the East is a hype machine until proven otherwise. It's improved, but this aint the West apocalypse..

You do know that the guy is a troll who goes into every major threads and make up stuff, right? Melo may or may not come to the Rockets. But brian chapman has no inside info on the matter. He's spewing speculative crap just like everyone else.

Yep I do. Well I forgot Dallas but other than them none of those West teams can compete for the title besides Dallas and Lakers now. Magic, Celtics, Heat, and Bulls would more than likely beat those other teams. If we are saying Portland and San Antonio might as well throw in Rockets as contenders too. Same with Thunder. Those teams just arent as good as the top East teams who also added the Suns Amare and Utahs Boozer to the Knicks and Bulls. Just shifted power. its obvious. If you think Lakers will contend as long as the Heat? Well Kobe isnt gonna play as long as those guys at his level. Useless arguing with the impatient. They could have waited and Kobe would be done in a year or two. Now their forver stuck behind Lebron, Wade, Bosh, Garnett, Ray Allen, Paul Peirce, Dwight Howard, Boozer and his new sidekick and they are all in their primes besides the Celtics. Good luck Amare and Carmelo. It gonna be a long DECADE there in the EAST. Not a few years but a DECADE behind the Heat and Magic and possibly Bulls.

The Nets did this to build their fan base. Melo has the star power that brings in ticket sales and exposure. He's the type of player that New Yorkers will gravitate to and the move to Brooklyn will help them build their fan base. Melo + Lopez will be able to get their team at least to within range of the playoffs. Harris is way over-rated. He's a decent starter, but no all-star pg in my opinion.

thunder is going to be neck and neck with the heat for a long long time as the best team. magic bulls and rockets and everyone else dont have a chance in my opinion.

I do agree that the top 3, Celts, magic and heat is at top of the pile along with Lakers and Dallas. But after that only the bulls and maybe the bobcats can match spurs/suns/portland/thunder/rox/jazz/denver.
West is still the stronger conference but East just have all the star power. All star games will be boring for the next few years.
