Somewhat random comment, but I really like what the Knicks are doing with their NYK logo. just makes you scratch your head even more about the Rockets logo. They had the right idea, create an iconic logo that embodies HR (Houston Rockets), but the solution is just bad...
I never saw the "h" until now. I thought it was just the "R" for Rockets, and the trails for the rocket launch.

they were trying to be all fancy and roll it all up into one. but in reality, it just looks vampire-ish, too fancy, too focused on China, etc. A better, simpler but obvious one that me, as a non graphical designer in any way could figure out, would simply be a H where the right side of the H was the backbone/left-side of the R. Simple, but classic...
It was "ok". I think the history recap that they play before the Rockets games is much better. Wish I had a link for it.
As a NYK fan, I watched this commercial and the 2nd one like 10 times....no tears but tons of joys....NYK basketball is relevant again....ppl in surrounding areas in NY, brooklyn only cares for the Knicks.....Nets has always been Jersey....All the yrs of crap bball NY been playing after JVG....total trash Isiash Thomas.....hope they deceide to keep donnie walsh, whose done a very good job cleaning up Thomas mess...... New York is not ready to contend, but now we have at least a chance starting on 2/23/11......few more pieces and CP3....
i love how they are now playing the Melo back to his "hometown" of NYC when all they did was market him from the mean streets of Baltimore his whole career...
It's good for the league that the Knicks are relevant again. The Isiah years were some lean years. But not so good for our picks. And the lack of paruty toward big/glamorous markets is worrisome.

I might had exaggerated with the "tear up" part but watching it live just made me a sentimental man. Of course, this is coming from a person who used to be a huge knicks fan during pre-Isiah era.
I'll bet that another stipulation, although will not be admitted to, was that the logo had to resemble a Chinese letter/character.
