More like half yard line and QB sneak time.

I guess we'll be waiting another 2 weeks for them to waive him. They move so slowly with this. Everybody knew what was going to happen a month ago.

honestly, if Melo doesn't see this motivation to get better by buying into the system, he's done as an NBA player. Might as retire next season if he doesn't get his **** together.

Then again, we have 3 (or at least 2.5) hungry stars who NEED a ring to cement their legacies, and time is quickly running out on 2 of them.

The Warriors have hands that are heavy from all that jewelry. While I'm sure they'd love to be known as a true dynasty, I also have to think the hunger isn't what it once was.

Skill is a great thing to have, but desire is also great. If we can successfully work Melo into our way of doing things, and if Morey's remaining moves can shore up the D a bit and maybe bring another shooter, anything can happen. Yeah, big IFs, but I still see us winning about as many games as the Warriors during the regular season. Playoffs will depend mostly on whether our IFs have happened and which team has suffered the bigger injuries.

Well said RJ. What I'm amazed by is the praise for Presti, when in the end DM is going to get Melo for a song. I'm no Melo fan, but in this system with CP3 and Harden, I'm optimistic we see some of the Olympic Melo return. Maybe Melo plays for the minimum and we can use the MLE on someone else.

Now if Morey can find Ryno a new home and get something usable in return, this will be a very good off season.

True. His only way to another big mutli-year contract next summer is to make himself an invaluable part of a team that goes VERY far into the playoffs. Nobody's going to want to hire Melo as their go-to guy at age 35.

Great post. If I'm Murray, I immediately start floating hard-core "The only untouchable prospects are Chinanu and Tarik!" rumors. Get that reverse-psychology thing going ASAP.

I have to give props to okc. That is how u operate in a small market. Draft well, trade for players we multiple years on that contract....every now n then gamble on a star. Well played

Carmelo will work on this team, Carmelo will be playing with Great Passing Guards, really for the first time ever.
Chauncey Billups, Allen Iverson made the playoffs with Denver
Jeremy Lin in New York, Carmelo got jealous, didn't buy in
Russell Westbrook, A Wild Horse with Blinders, as a Shooting Guard playing Point to fill up Stats Sheet,

Crazy talk. Okc should be going on their 5th straight championship. If they were willing to pay all this luxury tax why didn’t they just keep Westbrook, Harden, Durant, Ibaka together. We wouldnt even be discussing a warriors dynasty. They drafted 3 MVPs in 3 straight years and won 0 rings.

If they never traded Harden, Durant probably stays since they probably win a ring.

Jason Kidd in NY Melo won 54 games and second round.
    Billups in Denver Conference Finals.

Two times he has a vet leader pass first point guard. He was a weapon when used properly was really good. Hope for everyone involved he has something left in the tank.

Yes, but the James Harden trade still hurts them and helps our Rockets immensely. Presti acquires more talent, even if it doesn't fit well, for less than Morey though. An exception is Grant. He has upside, and is on a very reasonable contract.
9M a yr. Clint on the other hand, has been offered 5 yrs 90 M with incentives.

A lazy b*stard would be sitting at home smokin his 27.9M... if he comes to bust his butt for relative chump change... you gotta respect that...

I've never been a Melo fan - but this is the ultimate low risk/high potential scenario...

Hope this is true, but it’s also true that Melo is not at that level anymore.
