Yes, that would seem the logical move except: 1) He has already burned his bridges with the Nuggets and (imo) is starting to with some of his teammates as well. 2) He can still go to the Knicks in the summer if he doesnt to sign an extension. 3) If he doesnt sign an extension, and gets traded somewhere other than NY, the team he goes to for rental for the remainder of this season wont deplete the team he is planning on signing with this summer (NY). So as I see it, and understand it, as long as he isnt traded to NY, he satisfies his need to get out of Denver without hurting the team he really wants to go to.
on the flip side, he could sabotage us to help the Knicks by a couple of picks in the season. Then again, he'd have no reason to in the playoffs.
