Anthony, you are "rated" exactly where you belong - a tier below LeBron and Durant. Quit b****ing. Several teams went way over the top to court you this offseason, which eventually screwed one of them in the end. Still, you chose money over the possibility of winning now. Do something worthwhile like win a MVP trophy or lead your team to a Conference Finals before you open your mouth again about being overshadowed by players who in fact are superior to you in talent, contribution, and desire to win. You sound like T-Mac and that's not a compliment.
Durant and LeBron don't talk about how famous they are or are insecure about their rankings in the NBA. That is what separates him from them. If he wants to be respected then he shouldn't have sold out.
not a fan of carmelo but I have to kind of respect that. "I kind of forced my way to New York [in 2011], and I have some unfinished business to take care of" Anthony said Monday
Have fun seeing lebron go to the ecf every year Carmelo while the knicks stay home.. What could of been.
He has superstar potential I suppose, but he's been hiding in plain site in the biggest market in sports for years now. It's not easy to be underrated in NY. You either suck or your team is just that irrelevant.
Didn't they move to NY so Lala's career could get a shot in the arm? Melo is a good player, but they made the decision to stay on a sinking ship. For better or worse I guess that's his legacy.
Doubt it. He says he's better than he is but I think he knows he's not at tier 1 status. Frankly, these days I can't believe anything that any of the NBA players say because they're all completely coached up with PR talk. I can't even take Harden's or Dwight's talk seriously. That doesn't mean I don't like them or appreciate having them on my team, it just means I'd rather see the on-court product and results and make my own judgment. Talk is easy and Carmelo's been talking for way too long without backing it up. If he can back it up this season and get to the ECF or further, then great! He'd have finally turned a corner. But it's unlikely with his team. He stayed in NY for the money and there's no doubt about it. He's not about winning and he can't admit it because he'd be crucified.
The way to not be underrated is by winning. When you purposely chose a losing situation and purposely continue to remain in that losing situation, you're not underrated. You simply aren't about winning.
Lebron is the only true superstar left. In years past, Kobe Tim Duncan and Shaq were superstars. Chris Paul, Carmelo, Derrick Rose and Dwight Howard arent true superstars to me, they are watered down superstars. Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, Russell Westbrook are guys that can cross over into true superstardom
