It's not. It's laughable to even think that. Everyone had their hopes up for Carmelo for months and now that there is a possible negative report for us everyone is saying that the sky is falling.
Cleveland: Crowder + Shumpert and fillers (Frye/Felder/2nd rounders) OKC: Kanter + McDermott/Abrines and fillers (Grant/Ferguson/2nd rounders) Portland: Harkless + Davis/Leonard and fillers (Collins/Swanigan/1st/2nd rounders) Pretty much this i guess...
Melo, originally, was only willing to waive his trade kicker for Houston. I'm sure that's the same now. Any other team will have to gather around 30m in salary I believe to acquire him.
Woj is only reliable when he gives news that we want to hear. **** Woj. **** Melo too, don't want him he's a cancer anyways.
Probably more around 25 instead of 21, which would mean that: Cleveland gets it done with Shumpert, Crowder and Frye. OKC still gets it done with Kanter and Abrines or McDermott and maybe a minimum contract. Portland gets it done with Harkless, Leonard or Davis and basically one or two young players between Vonleh, Collins, Napier... And that's if he doesn't leave the trade kicker on the table which is still possible if he decides to waive the no trade in the first place.
just stop saying dumb **** and get your facts straight How tf were we gonna get Melo before CP3 when Melo only included Houston on his list because we acquired CP3? Do u even think before u post?
Knicks officials have been optimistic all along that Carmelo Anthony eventually would expand his wish list beyond the Rockets. And now he has. A source confirmed an ESPN report that Anthony has added the Cavaliers and Thunder in hopes of the Knicks finding a deal for him before the Oct. 19 season opener. According to ESPN, the Knicks contacted the Cavaliers on Monday, but no names were discussed. The Post previously reported the Thunder had expressed interest. The source told The Post that Anthony is heavily considering putting the Trail Blazers on his list as well. Following the blockbuster trade of Kyrie Irving to the Celtics for Isaiah Thomas, Jae Crowder, Ante Zizic and draft picks, The Post reported the Knicks viewed Cleveland as having more assets to make a deal after the addition of coveted small forward Crowder, a stout defender. But under league rules, Crowder can’t be traded until Oct. 22 — 60 days after the trade that sent him to Cleveland. New Knicks president Steve Mills covets Crowder. The Cavaliers, in the Irving deal, also obtained first-round and second-round picks they can package. The Knicks also may be interested in bringing back Iman Shumpert, their 2011 first-round pick, who was shuttled out by since-ousted president Phil Jackson. They already retained this summer another of their first-rounders Jackson had given up, Tim Hardaway Jr. Anthony finally appears to realize the Knicks won’t be able to work out a deal with the Rockets and never really were close on a package, despite his reps lobbying for him to play alongside Chris Paul and James Harden. The Cavaliers and Knicks talked over the winter about an Anthony deal, but the Knicks wanted Kevin Love and Cleveland was uninterested. LeBron James has wanted Anthony by his side since the start of his second stint in Cleveland, but Anthony was a free agent and it didn’t work logistically. Instead, the Cavs traded for Love, giving up their No. 1 pick, Andrew Wiggins. Anthony is hoping for a deal before the regular season begins.
How certain are you on that number? I thought I recalled it being much higher? His salary is currently 26.2 and I believe an 8.4m kicker. That brings his salary to 34.6m THIS year and the ability to opt in to next years. Not only is that a very difficult choose for a team to decide on with that kinda salary, but it also makes salary matching difficult. It's becomes 4 for 1 trades and that's not logical and lacks roster spots. Very difficult and I think it's something people are overlooking. Saying that, melo already folded, so he could fold again and waive his kicker again for others.
http://www.newsday.com/sports/baske...-trade-clause-to-three-source-says-1.14248408 Since they hadn’t been able to reach an accord with Houston — Anthony’s preferred destination — the Knicks asked him to provide them with more teams so they had more options. Anthony wants a change of address, and to play for a contender, while the Knicks want to move on and begin a youth movement that’s built around Kristaps Porzingis, Willy Hernangomez, Tim Hardaway Jr., Frank Ntilikina and Ron Baker. The New York Daily News reported that the Knicks reached out to Cleveland recently. ESPN.com first reported Anthony would be amenable to a trade to the Cavaliers and Thunder if nothing can get done with Houston. It’s clear both sides would like this matter settled before media day Monday.
