all these different reports fail to mention the only thing that matters.

melo has all the power. he can ruin the locker room. he can ball hog every play until the fans boo him (he did that last year when he was mad at phil). his agent can threaten to steer clients away... although they're probably doing this already, he'll start pushing for a buyout again.

the point is, by holding him, he will only lower his own trade value, and the knicks will only lose what little leverage they have left. he chose us, his NTC won't be waved for the blazers no matter how they posture and negotiate.

its only a matter of time until mills and perry bite the bullet. for them its addition by subtraction. like the kings with cousins. they dont have to get a great return, they just have to move on. the snag right now is neither mills or perry want their first move in their new roles to be giving away melo for 10 cents on the dollar, but they'll look worse and get less the longer they keep this going.

A realgm poster said 50% of Melo's salary is due at the start of the season, so the Knicks have more incentive to trade him prior to the season starting. Any truth to that?

 

Wish the Rockets held onto Sam Dekker in the Paul trade.

I think Ryno, Dekker, 2 1st rounders(the one later in the future protected) would have gotten it done IMO.

Dekker would have fit what the Knicks wanted to add plus the picks. They could potentially move Ryno later on if he played at a high level.
