If they need 3 then Blake will be wide open (like ur moms legs on saturday night) and deadly. If they wanna get to the line let Iverson penetrate and take it strong, or maybe dish. If they need a post or tough jumper hit Anthony. Its gonna be rough.

And just kidding about the mom thing.

Man, I was all for the Rockets trading for JR Smith this past off-season because I knew what I saw: a superstar level talent with 3-pt range, a ton of athleticism and a player that was probably going to have a breakout year once he got a change of scenery.

What I didn't expect were the rumors about him being a selfish knucklehead to follow him wherever he went. This kid, flat out, is just a horrible decision maker. Not just his shot selection (which is about as bad as it gets) but he doesn't pass, plays little defense, commits stupid turnovers and basically makes all the silly, boneheaded mistakes you find yourself screaming at the TV over.

He's talented, no doubt. Young too -- only 21-years-old. But if this kid is ever going to have a future with this team he needs to learn how to take a backseat and become more efficient. Playing 24 minutes and jacking up 18 shots (1-11 or so after the 1st qtr) isn't the way to do it.

That being said, i'm glad we didn't trade him as there is no way JVG would have played him. Byron Scott is a hardass/no BS type of coach that wouldn't tolerate that style of play the same way JVG wouldn't have tolerated it.

Interesting note about the Skita pick. We traded him (and Rodney White) to Golden State for Najera and a draft pick. That draft pick was sent to Philly in the Iverson deal. So even the Skita pick somehwat worked out for us over time.

1-3 pick and roll. It's a thing of beauty.

    Nope, it's real.

I'm on cloud 9 today, but remember that a Nugs fan cloud 9 is like cloud 4 for everyone else. I'm still not sure if we were lucky or unlucky with the timing of Melo's suspension. On the plus side, it was our easiest stretch of the year (I think 11 of the 15 were at home) so we were able to not lose too much ground. On the negative side though, we really needed that stretch to make a serious run and that was lost because of the suspension. I'm hoping we can win 8-10 out of the next 13 and really go into the all-star break breathing down Utah's neck. We NEED to get a top 5 seed if at all possible to avoid the "big 3". That said, the Phoenix - Denver series if it happened in the first round would be epic (even though we'd lose).

You got that right - that would be an awesome series.

I was watching the game and I saw Iverson get so many open looks. I bet you that was a new experience for him.

Melo does alot of what Yao does for us on the offensive side. He is a low post scorer that commands a double team. He opens things up for everyone. He just needs to learn how to pass a little better and he could be an MVP candidate. If Melo had Tmac's vision, he would be unstoppable, but that is a big "IF".

Anybody notice that Steve Blake has a 4.4 assist/to ratio and is shooting 48% from the field and 58% from the arc since being traded to Denver?

Did Blake learn how to shoot on the flight from Milwaukee to Denver?

No one covers Blake because of Iverson. With Melo back, he should get even more open looks. As good as Redd is, he's a jump shooter that doesn't demand a double team.

Yeah the Nuggets are really good after this trade, but Rockets will still beat em after we broke down last Saturday.

Carmelo, AI. T-Mac, Yao. We got this. ;)

Blake is a much better player than the abysmal stats at Milwaukee but the 3 point % will not continue, even with Melo and AI on the floor with him. He isn't very talented or athletic but plays within himself and good things happens when he's on the court.

AI and Melo are both from the northern virginia/baltimore/D.C. area. they are bound to get along if for no other reason than that.

Worrddd, AI is pretty big around here, I'm in VA. Melo only went to Oak Hill Academy one year in VA I believe. First 3 years in Baltimore.

If you guys are curious, the gagging sound you're hearing from the Northwest of Houston is the Utah Jazz currently choking on their lead in the Northwest Division. If the Nugs can win Friday night, it'll be down to 3 games with only one game difference in the loss column.

Big win by Utah tonight. Denver was rolling into town...well, it looks like it's going to be a dogfight between the Jazz, Lakers, Rockets, and Nuggets for the 4-7 playoff seeding. I hope the Spurs fall back into the pack too, but I doubt it.

I think it is pretty safe to say Lakers and Rockets will have the 5 and 6 spot, whoever on top is not surprising. The rest of the teams are not good enough to challenge the top 6.

Denver has great offense (their 3pts shooting is still suspicious), but their D is weak. They need some consistency from their big men besides Camby.
