Let’s not go down that road… it’s not cancer.

    Back trouble?

This is concerning. I hope this is nothing serious and Carlos get paid.

Sorry. My first thought was Lou Gehrig or something similar. The MAN, not the PLAYER.

Man, that would be terrible. Let’s hope it’s a quick fix injury

It can be unsigned or it can be signed contingent on passing the physical. Either way the contract is either non-existent or void.

It's like a home sales contract which is contingent on financing. You can go ahead and sign and it will be void if the financing falls through.

My second thought was if it is serious and they can treat it at the Medical Center, that he could have free access to the Astros Clubhouse when they're in town to get his mind off things.

Hopefully it's nothing which seriously jeopardizes his health. Maybe it's a false positive or something.

Given that they were waiting on blood-work results, clear that it’s not something spine related.

(Unless he’s been getting more steroid or anti-inflammatory injections than normal… which could certainly cause some lab abnormalities over an extended period of time).

This is usually where I come in and make a Daniella snu-snu joke, but man I got a bad feeling about this, like its not a sports med problem. I really hope it's not serious.

Unfortunate for CC if true. If I were Giants I would try to lower the contract but not sure Boras would let that happen.

It all depends on what's going on. The first thing is whether this is a life event or just a career irritation. Like creating something just to reopen negotiations.

It could be something as mundane as a COVID diagnosis.

Are you ill with whatever Correa might have?

I think if it's just something like COVID they would have announced it because it wouldn't change anything about Correa the player or the contract -- "presser postponed due to covid protocol" would be easy enough. They must have found something more serious during the physical to make the Giants question whether there are career implications and if they should go through with their long contract offer. I think the lack of info right now is every party taking their time to seek medical advice.
