Don't be silly, no player guarantees a champion. However, landry makes us a deeper team at the very least. He's also more valuable than a guy like Hayes or bringing in another vet, because he has the potential to get better. Hayes will always be hayes.
I would say 3M is the right price. 2M is too low for a quality big man. 4-5 M is too high for a second year second rounder.
Not for a sophomore who has shown very very little and not submitted to any medical evaluation. Without knees his style is worthless.
Ok. I hope Landry can make the rotation if he sign with the rockets. I think Artest will take his minutes at PF position. Hayes is Hayes, and he is a defense specialist.
I think we will just continue to have ScoLandry. Power and Finesse. TMac and Battier can give up minutes for Artest. Battier plays a ton of minutes and it is starting to show int he way of injuries. We need to let him rest as much as possible.
3 million per year for 3 years is a fair deal. The best for the team would have been 1.5 to 2 mil per year, the best for Landry would have been 4-5 mil per year. This is a middle ground that both sides will probably agree to.
Now fox houston reports it. Good news. Hoopsworld first time sort of right in about 1000 tries. HOUSTON -- Restricted free agent Carl Landry, who played with the Houston Rockets for one season, has signed an offer sheet with the Charlotte Bobcats, according to his agent Buddy Baker. The Rockets have seven days to match. http://www.myfoxhouston.com/myfox/p...n=2&locale=EN-US&layoutCode=TSTY&pageId=6.1.1
You might be right, but I still think it remains to be seen how much power forward artest can play. Sure, he's big and strong, but he doesn't rebound like a power forward. Can he change that? Can we overcome it? I think it'd be tough when Scola's in a center. That's a small frontcourt. If the rebounding issue is too much for Artest to play PF that often, I'd much rather see Landry backing up Scola than dorsey or hayes. Who knows? Landry showed flashes of being more effecting than Scola last season, maybe he'll eventually start. Not likely, but possible. On the other hand, hayes and dorsey have zero chance of eclipsing scola.
There is no more "agreeing" to be done. Carl Landry has just signed his NBA contract. The only question that remains is whether the team on the other end of that deal is the Charlotte Bobcats or the Houston Rockets.
I like this deal, 3mil is kinda high with all the uncertainties but if Carl can continue to play at the level he showed us before injury, it sounds about right. Scola at 3mil is a valued contract (meaning Scola is underpaid a little) so Carl at 3mil is about right.
no one knows until he is shelfed in this coming season. but one thing for sure, he doesn't have a heathy knee. how bad is his knee? go to ask landry. when you have a doubt on sth, you can take a chance but how aggresive you are will determine how much loss you could face when the doubt becomes true. rox has been in the bad situation after title run. alot fans here pointed finger to CD but no one mentioned CD just took a chance. he failed.
