Do you believe keeping Landry can guarantee us a champion?

I don't think Landry will have a significant impact on the coming season.

5 points and 4 boards a night in 15 mins would be enourmously helpful to this team off the bench as Scola increases his minutes.

No. If Scola or Yao get hurt, the rockets will have no chance to will the title.

Nothing can guarantee you a championship but having Landry gives us a better chance.

I think she meant he will be essential over the course of the season...it's a grind, and that kind've depth is essential for a team as injury plagued as the rockets have been...

I don't see how you can argue this is a bad thing..this contract is very reasonable for a big man with his kind've production, and on par with those handed out to player with similar experience

790 has a Landry update coming up at the next update.... From the teaser, I think someone offered him a contract (dunno if it's the Bobcats)

    Landry To Sign Offer Sheet

League sources have informed HOOPSWORLD that Rockets' restricted free agent Carl Landry will sign a three-year, $9 million offer sheet from the Charlotte Bobcats.

Once signed, the Rockets will have seven days to match the offer, a deal which would put the Rockets very close to the NBA luxury tax.

The Rockets have maintained all summer that they would match any deal given to Landry, and it seems Landry is ready to force the issue.

League sources said that Rocket's GM Daryl Morey flew out and met with Carl last week and tendered a new offer, rumored to be roughly half of what the Bobcats' are offering.

Sources said Landry is in Charlotte now, and the deal could become official later today.

    More as it develops.

I don't know. I just feel Landry will not be as productive as he was in last season. He will fight for a spot of the rotation. I think this is probably one reason why he didn't accept the rockets' offer. I don't think it was all because of money.

Well morey matches that easily. Thank god for the bobcats doing morey's job, just like memphis did atlanta's job with josh smith.

We will match that. This is a decent deal would have prefered 2 million but with idiots like the Bobcats running around there is nothing you can do.
