Last night i was on xbox and i sent aaron brooks a messege. I asked him if i should be fred flinstone or a spartan from the movie 300 for haloween!

I also told him if he see's buddy baker around camp to tell him the rockets fans want him to kiss our A@#! and if he see's landry Tell him we want him to go to europe! I'm so tired of hearing about this landry being greedy situation!

How much is that fair offer? I guess it's 1.5 - 2.5 millions per year, 2-3 years contract.

The thing is morey probably does not want to pay landry more than scola. However, scola is underpaid and I still can't believe the rockets got scola to sign that dirt cheap contract. 3 mill I can understand since he was unknown in the nba, but 3 mill for 3 years is crazy. Still crazy how scola agreed to sign for that low.

Ok this guy is getting reply happy, its the same post he's posted in another thread and has NOTHING to do with the thread

Another reason why noobs can't start threads right away

Back to the subject, I hope he signs soon, I bought a Landry jersey at Game 5 and have only wore it to one game :(

Scola is paid 5 times more than his rookie contract. That was what Morey told him

    Using the Cuttino ideal
    but
Will that hurt us when we try to resign him?
I mean .. because Cuttino was a second rounder. . other teams could
offer him MORE than we could. . .
Cuttino decided to stay for less but i don't expect that of anyone

I'm guessing 3 years, 10 + mil. 1.5 - 2.5 would hardly be a fair offer; it'd be lowballing at its best, which wouldn't actually be bad...

Why did you post the same message in different threads? Your message had nothing to do with either of the topics and it's not even interesting. Maybe if Brooks actually replied it would be interesting (barely) but he didn't. What's the point?

This would be way to much for a guy who was on the bench pretty much first half of the season and not to mention this is only his second year. how much di he really play last season? No doubt he was solid most of the time he was on the court but 10 mil I think is a lot even for Landry at this time. We need one whole season out of him to be able to pay him 10 mil or more.

Actually, I think 2 mil. per year, 3 years contract (the 3rd year is player's option) is a fair offer.

If you think about the kinds of minutes both are being asked to play:

    1. Luis Scola is underpaid but not by much.

    2. Carl Landry sure as hell shouldn't be making more than Scola.

Look, Battier and Rafer have been 35+MPG starters for us for years, and even both those guys are around 5-6 million per year. Scola at 25-30MPG and ~10PPG/7-8RPG is worth 4-5 million by that logic, but remember both of them were rookies last year so they'll have to wait until they can max out their worth contractually. That's just the way it's always been.

You can complain about the millions our superstars make, but that's the nature of business. A commodity that is almost irreplaceable has a value exponentially greater than one that can be found more easily, and that's why Tracy and Yao get so much more than our role players.

If I'm Morey, I put 3 years 2.5M per out there on the table until the last minute, when I increase that offer to something a hair under what Scola makes. Landry had a great rookie season but he hasn't proven enough yet to justify us investing too much money in him over the longterm. And undersized underrated power forwards are becoming more and more common around the NBA these days.
