The last few years Dirk has been leading with his elbows when he drives. Now he knows his elbow can get hurt. I hope he doesn't do this anymore as there are tough minded players that will stick their head in there.
it'll be interesting to know more about what actually happened. like i said, i thought i saw landry with a mouthpiece as he was walking off the court. i'm also pretty sure worrell or bullard mentioned he wears a mouthpiece. i'm guessing either the hit was so bad it pushed in his entire front row of teeth, or the elbow got landry's bottom teeth instead. 5 teeth total. we know he already has one fake one.
That was last night after the game, but who knows. If Anderson fills in tonight like he did last night, we should be OK.
fixed I'm hoping he does a Scola and does a 180 on the prognosis, but Landry has a habit of missing games after getting nicked (or shot). Not knocking his toughness, but Scola just has a tougher skin IMO.
Gah, Busted! Not used to typing that name. Though if he keeps it up, those typos should decrease rapidly!
A sports mouthguard only covers the gums and the teeth of the upper jaw, b/c they are the most likely teeth to be damaged during a tramatic event. However, the lower teeth are still exposed and at risk for injury.
RocketsJCF "Landry underwent a series of procedures this morning including a root canal and two dental bridges to repair the damage."
http://blog.sina.com.cn/s/blog_5ed5...0gy2e.html?tj=1 Hello SINA Family! It's been a painful 24 hours for yours truly. As many of you already know, I took a charge and broke three teeth in the game versus the Dallas Mavericks last night. I had to go to the emergency room in Dallas last night and spent the entire day in oral surgery back home in Houston. This is not the first time I have lost some teeth playing basketball...I certainly hope it is the last! During my rookie year, my good friend and PEAK ambassador, Dikembe Mutombo knocked out one of my front teeth in practice. That was the first time. Then, later in that season during playoffs, I lost the same tooth in a game versus the Utah Jazz. That was one of my most memorable games ever, so I will never forget it. We were on TNT and I came back in the game and made the game saving block on Darren Williams!!! I did the post game interview with a big gap in my mouth! Injuries are part of this game and luckily, my teeth are repairable. I'll just have a swollen and sore mouth for a few more days. Thanks to everyone for their well wishes! I really appreciate all of the kind words. I am fine, just sore and very tired! Congrats to my teammates for the big overtime win!!! We really needed that one! Good luck to everyone tonight! I will be back soon with my brand new smile!!! GO ROCKETS!!! Ouch..that hurt!!! I'll send some new picks when the swelling goes down. Too ugly right now.
