Carl Landry assaulted, shot in the leg (out 1-2 weeks)

1)the times are still not clear and there hasnt been official word on the 911 calls. So its still possible someone did. Also, that area isn't very busy and there arent a lot of residences. It's mostly small businesses that only operate during the day, empty lots, or the new townhomes like where landry lived. Being townhomes, brand new, i'd say they are too well insulated for the noise to bother folks or even wake them up.

2)PD probably won't respond to anything that isn't certain, specially that late at night when there's less cops out. Someone saying, "i think i heard a gunshot, but i dont see anything", probably isn't enough to get a cop out there, or at least not right away unless there's more calls coming in. Or is it common to call cops when you just hear a gunshot? I've heard what sounds like shots, but i've never called. I probably wouldnt unless i saw something to back it up or screaming, or something else than just the noise, maybe that's just me

3. Apparently the second hit wasnt a head on hit. The civic made a complete U turn and came back, but Landry only made half a U, or partial U, then got off to check the damage, so on the second hit only the civic was moving and it rear ended the SUV.

Now that i think of it, maybe that's why they left the car. If they hit the rear of the SUV with their front, it probably didn't withstand that second hit and the car wasn't drivable after it.

 

Don't think that is the chase, Not real MS-13 members at least. They could have easily just been Mexicans. MS-13 is a Salvadorian gang.

yeah if its ms-13, then they really went out of their way because there aren't many salvadorians in the immediate area, or most of the east side really.

 

This is nuts, and I'm wishing Landry a full and speedy recovery. I hate that this happened in my city, but I guess that's life in the big city anywhere. Now go get that CCW.

I think Sean Taylor (Redskins) was also shot in the leg during an attempted robbery, but he got hit in the femoral(?) artery and died. So Landry is really really lucky. Kind of puts things in perspective.

Maybe he should move here to safe and friendly Chicago!
