Carl Landry assaulted, shot in the leg (out 1-2 weeks)

Yeah, but that's what i mean, KPRC has the time of the incident at 1;30 am and last night the offier interviewed got the time mixed up and said it hapened at 4am, today he's saying 4am was when the police really responded. Then there was a report on cbs this morning saying a call to 911 came in at 330am, but since the police said it happened at 4, the reporters thought there had been an earlier shooting at the location, but then realized the 330 call was about landry. I got confused just writing all that...i'd just wait until we get all the media reports on the same page..

If this was just a botched robbery, and they wanted to kill landry so he couldnt' ID them, then why leave their car? That's worse than letting Landry provide a description.

 

Robbers aren't the most intelligent folks in the world.

 

Maybe, i just think there isn't enough info to really blame her for not calling, she could have been picked up by landry on his way home from the airport, so she may not even know his home address or be familiar with the area and therefore couldnt give dispatch an accurate direction. Or maybe she was in on it. Just too many possiblities right now...

 

I can't help but think this was random. He probably has a nice ride, and they wanted to "hit a lick" as it were. Wrong place, wrong time. This type of activity is a lot more common than people think. The idea that this was retaliatory, is, in my opinion pretty far fetched.

 

I'm just totally speculating. If their aim was to inflict a fatality as part of some gang initiation, I think that could be why they were chasing Carl, to finish the job, or else it would be viewed as a fail initiation attempt.

 

Whoever did this is obviously a thug, and probably uneducated, Carl friggin' Landry gets out of the car, they panic, they shoot, he runs, they panic, they chase him, they can't catch him, they panic, they flee. Let's not read too much into the motivations here folks. These types of horrible thing happens to regular people everyday. Just because Carl is a professional athlete doesn't mean he's immune from random acts of violence.

Well under that scenario ' can see what you mean. Hopefully Landry got a good luck at them.

 

That would make sense if they weren't both dressed in all black and had intentionally hit his vehicle AFTER he got out. From what i read, it appears they hit him, landry made half a U and got out to check his SUV, by then they had turned around and they came and rear ended his car. If they really were that panicky they would have drove off after seeing it was Carl friggin landry that got out.

 

Yeah, I will stop speculating. I hope that it was just a random act of violence and nothing more will come out of this unfortunate incident.

 

I see enough of this everyday to know that you cannot predict/rationalize the behavior of somebody that is capable of this sort of thing.

I'm glad he isn't dead. But we will need people to step up and provide for the team

 

if that's the case then (most gang-bangers are basketball or sports fans) those guys are gonna get executed for what they did by their respective gang.
