An injury to a nerve could have resulted in paralysis which would have ended his career. An arterial or venous injury could have resulted in hemorrhage and shock.

Saw a report that said he got hit in the leg and it is a flesh wound and he's been released from the hospital, which is a relief. Probably won't be too serious, then. Still, that's freaking scary for someone to just open fire at your car when you are trying to get a burger.

Dorsey can barely even practice. He's got plantar fasciitis, and he hasn't played basketball for months.

This is awful - I'm incredibly relieved he wasn't seriously hurt.

Landry seems to be such a nice guy, it's terribe he was shot at. He probably saw his life flash before his eyes. :(

I hope they find who did it.

    Get well Carl.

It seems there is still confusion on the board as to the time of the incident. Can someone officially clarify it?

Also, KellyDwyer or Clutch or someone else that covers the league probably has more info on what happens after games but from what I know the visiting team provides food to the away team outside their locker rooms after the games. Plus, the away team usually has meals waiting in their plane as they leave the city they're visiting but I'm guessing on a flight from NO-Hou, there's not enough time to indulge in a full meal for the players so it would make sense if he went out at 1.30am as soon as the plane got into Houston to go get food. Now if he went out at 4.30 am then that's a different story.

    Per Chron...

The incident happened in the 3100 block of Leeland, a short distance southeast of downtown, about 4:20 a.m., Houston police said in a preliminary report.

As Gwatson86 pointed out, 'tis not the place for this discussion.

Seriously, what a relief that he's wasn't more seriously injured.
