Dad - High school teacher. Left to pursue career in radio broadcasting. Worked as a sportscaster and outdoors reporter on radio and as a freelance photojournalists. Returned to teaching and retired after 38 years. Now, a professor of creative writing at San Jacinto College. Mom - Guidance Counselor and eventual head of secondary guidance couseling for Houston Independent School District before retiring after 30 years. Came out of retirement to head the district's Drug Free Schools program for two years. Now, has a private practice as a professional counselor and owns a college scholarship consulting business.
