That's an interesting thought. WOW...I just saw a poll that has the Astros as the leading candidate to winthe Central division. First time i have seen that. Last time I saw one on Foxsports.com the astros were second, with the cards right behind them.
Come on, it's only the Giants that are imposing on the remaining schedule. They're home games and it would be nice to know what kind of playoff team they will be.
we still have 5 games left with the Cards. In the mean time the Cubs are living in heaven and enjoying their time watching their two competiters beat up on each other. It's a win win situation for them, as long as they beat the cupcakes.
Who here wants to predict tomorrow that the Astros will struggle to put up more then 2 runs if that? That seems to be the routine after we put up big numbers one game and lose focus the next. Not mention Morris, their other ace who's arm isn't deadbeat tired has been pitching great lately. Man I hope that's not the case, but it's hard to ignore the stats after a big run game. Go Astros! Make a strong run into October, and strike fear into the Braves hearts and get past the first round
Oswalt vs Morris - Whatta great match up! The atmosphere at MM should be crazy wild! Maybe I'll make it a downtown day and go to Open House followed by the game at MM! Who would of thought 10 years ago that this opportunity would of been available?
All we need to do is win one more game in this series to keep DaDakota from starting a thread where he proclaims that the season is over.
2-0 'Stros on a 2 out double by Biggio in the bottom of the 5th. Oswalt so far has pitched 6 innings of shut out ball with 8 strike outs, 0 walks, and 4 hits. Apparently this game is airing on AM KTRH 740 in Houston and I went to the site to try and listen over the net, but it's blocked since MLB Radio wants you to pay to listen to the game. So all you'll get is KTRH self advertisement til the game ends.
7 innings of shut out ball for Oswalt on 94 pitches with 65 being strikes. It's nice to see he had a great outting, and I think barring a probable limited pitch count due to his previous injuries, he might of stayed for a possible 8th inning or a complete game. Whatever the case, Dotel is out there now and hopefully he'll pitch lights so Wagner can close it
Game over. Astros win 2-0 in the 2nd game of the series. Bagwell hits his 35th homer of the season with a solo shot, Biggio gets his 43rd double of the season and puts up another RBI in the 5th and drives in Brad Ausmus. Dotel comes in the 8th to relieve Oswalt and has a 1-2-3 inning, and Wagner gives up a single to Edmonds, but induces a double play against Pujols to only later strike out Rolen on 3 straight pitches, all called strikes. No foul balls Wagner gets his 42nd save of the season.
Great win for the 'stros. It is so good to see Oswalt back to his dominant self, and to see the Astros finally win a game after putting up big numbers the night before. **Takes out broom** Let's get the sweep guys!!
Great game for our guys. Man, this one was over early. What time did it start....aww it doesn't matter. Great Win. Going for the sweep!!!
