I get why the coaches love Blue and the fans hate him. Every strength is the antithesis of the kind of "sexy" quality that fans love. More than anything else he is safe, and no fan is going to get excited about safe, and for coaches who are on constant danger of ulcers, safe is very appealing in a backup. He won't blow anybody away, but he won't give the game away, either. You can count on him for 3 yards and a cloud of dust between the tackles, with no injuries, no turnovers, solid pass protection, good team attitude, and special teams.

Yeah that's the catch I was thinking about. I don't think a catch in the middle of the field should have tougher criteria than one at the sideline. Catch the ball and hold on as you go down, or if you get two feet down and lose it thereafter, it's a fumble.. None of this make a football move nonsense.
replace "safe" with mediocre and you're right. he just isn't good enough to be a backup RB who's going to get his fair share of carries a game. doesn't really bring a plus trait. cardinals have a great rushing attack btw. ellington, their 3rd string back, could probably be a starter for some teams. sick catch by Shipley
