i always feel like people think berkman had just one good year when in fact he's had two MONSTER seasons followed by a down but still way above league average season last year. there's nothing wrong with berkman now... he's at .280 with 3 hr's and 15 rbi's. definitely at least a good start.

You know that your team really got beat bad when one third of this thread is about the Cards.

Sigh. They'll right the ship tomorrow behind Roy.

I complety agree. He average dropped in 02 a decent amount but he had more HR's and RBI's than 01. He did have a really slow start last season but it seems like he has been unable to regain the high batting average he once had during his breakout year. However i dont see any reason why he wont.

I am predicting a sweep with tommorows game. Jason Marquis is going to put up a solid start against Oswalt.

Still a good chance they loose againt Oswalt.

yesterday when Berkman went after the ump kind of, Dierker I beleive mentioned that Berkman would never cuss at the ump, is he Christian or Muslim or religious? Is that why he simply does not cuss at all?

Berkman's Jewish, but I dunno if that has anything to do with what Dierk said.

Could it be that he is a good guy and doesn't want to be disrespectful to anyone? Kinda of a weird now and days.

I apologize about my misinformation, I coulda swore he was Jewish.

But he might just be genuinely a good guy, which is the reason I suspect Dierker said that.

True, but it looks like the ranking jinxed us. That's 2 losses to the mediocre Cardinals since the new rankings. If we get swept by the Cardinals, they might as well drop us to #29.

I don't agree with that, but hey it isn't fun to lose to a bad team.

OUCH Kent hit that ball into his foot so hard! Ouch....

EDIT: WOW!!! What a play by Biggio! Holy crap that was a beautiful and very difficult catch!!! Just amazing! :D

    Roy down 1-0 now.

I can't believe we are not jumping all over another mediocre pitcher.

This is the frustrating thing about our offense. We are gang busters one day and then will go several games without making noise.

BTW, did anyone else think that the Cards are intentionally playing mind games with Roy tonight??

Before the game, it looks like they may have complained about Roy's right arm being covered with his black shirt.

And then, several Cards were calling time when Roy was already in the middle of his windup.

If that had been Clemens on the mound, I get the feeling that his next pitch would have been in the batter's ribs.

EDIT: That was a nasty curve that struck out Sanders.

It was Renteria who called time late in the 2nd inning... and it was Renteria who almost got a pitch in his ear on that ball 4 wild pitch.

You know Roy doesn't throw wild pitches... that pitch was a little intentional.

Anybody else getting annoyed with these "women selling stuff for a good cause" crap interviews during the game?

Why not just run a commercial in between innings.
