    With the exception of the playoffs, that was one of the greatest games I have ever gone to. I mean to beat the cards like that has far reaching implications. It shows us that this team can hang with the best. I know that this was a regular season game, but I cant tell you how important this game was. Just to know that we can survive the onslaught of the cardinals lineup and come back and win the way we did, was truly amazing. I just hope these guys use this as a springboard and go on a tear. We have some important series coming up with florida and philly and we need these guys to get hot. I BELEIVE!

    This game is going to turnaround the season, and we're going to close the season as the hottest team in baseball. Word.

    just got home after dropping off my gf, DEAR GOD THAT WAS THE BEST GAME I HAVE EVER WITNESS IN MY LIFE!!!!

    My gf doesnt even like baseball and she got into it. Damn, HR after HR. Tie after Tie, great, great game. After Edmonds hit his HR, I was like, ok, thats cool, if the game ends, it was a good game and someone had to lose. But once Palmerio took the hit by pitch, i was PUMP and thinking we had to win, it was bases loaded with only ONE out, and was right.

    To make this game even sweeter, I was in Suite Tickets from work, Suite 50, and made this game even better :)

    What a great game! Just finished watching it on TIVO.

    I said several weeks ago that the game where we lost to Pittsburgh 1-0 was a demoralizing loss and could have after-effects. I think that happened as we went into an even deeper funk.

    This is the type of game that can give a team Big Mo for a couple weeks and carry you to the Wild Card. It happened last year in Chicago, and if we win the WC this year, I will look back to this game as a big reason why.

    i caught the last inning. baseball is a weird game. it's my favorite..but it's weird.

    the games with St. Louis have been tough...tight games. even when we were swept up there. a playoff series between these teams would be amazing.

    Roger is on the mound tonight against Carpenter. I think that the team need to show up in a BIG way in this game. Roger need it and Stros need it more than him.
    Tonight the offense will wake for Roger. ;) :)

    hate to be the eternal optimist in this thread lol.

    However, what's there to indicate that Roger will get any support this game again? ESPECIALLY against a potential Cy Young winner? Are you kidding me? We've failed to get runs across against teams like the Pirates, Padres, and Dodgers.

    More stats that I hope get proved wrong again

    2 runs of support in 4 starts... 2 runs??? Granted, a couple of those were decent pitchers (Peavy, etc) but there's still no excuse for 4 of those starts being shutout....

    Man, Jost woke up, and all I can think about was that game last night. I mean Brad freakin Ausmus hits a mae tyiiing home in extra innings, are you kidding me? Seriously, I am going to remember this game for a long long time. I cant stand Cardinals. I lived in St. Louis for five years and let me tell you, I cant stand their fans either. I will however, give credit where credit is due, they care about their baseball team more than this town as whole does. Anyway, Carpenter vs Clemens tonite, I hoep we can get keep this thing going. I know we just need the bats to be alive.

    all I can say is we've lost 4 straight with clemens on the mound (no , hardly due to clemens lol), so we're about due to win a couple of his g ames one of these days

    PERMITTING, if the offense shows up.

    This should be the lineup against Carpenter tonight.

    2b=Craig Biggio
    RF=Orlando Palmerio
    3b=Morgan Ensberg
    LF=Lance Berkman
    Cf=Luke Scott
    1b=Mike Lamb
    SS=Jose Vizcanio
    C=Brad Ausmus
    p=Roger Clemens

    Lefties hit .251, 10 HR's, .303 OBP vs Carpenter while Righties hit only .177, 4 HR's, .206 OBP.

    I wouldn't call that enough of a difference to bench your best hitter against the league and against the Cardinals in Taveras. I'm sure Luke Scott will get the start, though, over Burke in LF.
