Fat has the highest calories per gram. Does "best" mean for energy, or for health?

the anti-carb fads have brainwashed people. why do you have to cut out ALL carbs? why not just the carbs that make you fat and unhealthy?

complex carbs and whole grains are a huge part of a well-rounded diet.

Fat is digested slower than carbs. Fat is not just transported around your blood stream. Fat is broken down in to fatty acids. Carbs are broken down into glucose.

Insulin increases fat storage. Insulin is produced when carbs are digested, not fat. Simple carbs are broken down into glucose very quickly and start the release of insulin faster. The more carbs, the more insulin is produced and the more fat will be stored.

Fat can be created from both fatty acids and glucose. Fatty acids get stored easier than glucose (this is where you are right). However with less glucose in the system, less insulin is produced and less fat is stored.

You have to take into consideration what kind of activity you're doing as well. Intensity and duration. Low intensity + long duration will usually keep you in the "fat burning" category.

And not all fats are the same, generally you should be looking at unsaturated fats and complex carbs and adjusting them based on your activity needs. Just because you need more fats for a long run doesn't mean you should go for a greasy burger.

Nothing you said indicates that carbs are easier to store than fat. Infact it argues against it. Thanks for admitting you were wrong.
