Fimd a "Formula One" brand tint dealer. Best warranty and darkest legal available...

I used to sell the stuff. I wouldn't put anything else on my car.

I know a tint guy at Momentum BMW that came to my house to tint my windows. I got 18% on 5 windows for $150.

Cause I can't keep looking at my pretty face all day when I'm on the road. It gets distracting, you know.

Actually, I think it looks kinda cheesy. But hey, its better than a car I saw with green tint. I've seen pictures of a car with blue tint also.

I agree with the above..i have done a ton of research on tints especially regarding acura TL (im about to get one) and the top of the line is formula one ..i plan on getting the forumula one pinnacle ceramic tint 35% all around and 50% on windshield... i dono about other cars..but honda/acura if you have a navigation system stay away from metallic tint...and go for ceramic.

Tint laws and comments are always fun to read because nobody knows what the actual laws are. :D I was so cornfused before looking into them, too.

FYI : it's not as simple as saying "you can have x% tint on your side windows and back". It depends on your vehicle. Look up the laws. Whether or not you get pulled over is another story. :)

*Generally speaking*, if you drive a car and you have 2 side mirrors, you can get your side windows tinted to 25% light transmittance and I believe 25% reflectance while your back windows can be tinted to whatever light transmittance you wan (keep in mind light transmittance means how much light is allowed through by the tint you put on *in combination* with the existing tinting within the car's glass. If you only have 1 side mirror, you can only have 25% light transmittance on side and rear windows.

Unless something has changed recently, I believe this is still law (or at least part of the law).

Go for good tint : Huper Optik, Llumar, 3M, etc. Don't get dye tint - get semi-metallic or if you want to go goofy, ceramic. There are different kinds of tints, but most people just walk up and say "I want my car tinted" and they end up getting some cheap tint unless some reputable installer does it.

Considering dealers tint cars (well ok, they drive them over to a local tint shop when you're not looking and make you pay double what you should've paid if you had just driven over to the same place), I don't think it's a problem. :)

FYI : I have a TL with metallic tint... no GPS issues. :) I've always thought this was odd, though because I talked with a lot of tint shops before getting my car tinted and they all said they've never heard of issues with metallic tint and GPS units. If anything, it would interfere with some AM reception. I know Acura says not to get metallic tint, but what can I say? I'm a rebel. Actually there are lots of people on the Acura forums that have metallized tints with no navi problems, so who knows. I definitely took an AM reception hit from what I can tell though. I couldn't care less about that, though.

they always ask you if you wan that garbage. If you are not driving an old school caddy with a diamond in the back stay the f' away from mirror tint.

are you 12 years old? Use some common sense. If the winter breaks your door, duh, it is not covered under warranty. Very few tinters would disassemble your door to apply tint. That would take too long. Just get the freaking tint.

Like any aftermarket product the dealer would have to see proof the tint caused your power windows to stop working.

No i am not 12 years old. im just ****ing paranoid about anything involving my ride. what i am saying is that if anything happens to my doors, even if it had nothing to do with the tint job the dealer would try to screw me out of the warranty.
