So by your logic, Ford rebadging a Mazda G as their own makes your Japanese engineered, Mazda badged car, american?
They used Ford sourced parts, and Ford's design for the vehicle. My logic isn't just that they rebranded it, but that they were responsible in large part for the quality of parts used, and the design. That said, the KL engine was designed by Mazda, so its not entirely Ford's fault. The fact that Ford had them stuff that engine into that car, on the other hand.
I always thought it was the other way around. Don't most leases have mileage limits on them, and once you exceed it, you start getting penalized??
Why are you mad about repairs to 8 year old vehicle? You need to find an AC shop that does reputable work. Be glad this happened now and not July. Patch it up and flip it at the end of the year when you can get a good deal on another vehicle. Expeditions are good trucks. You don't have a lot of options in the full size market, really. AC and transmissions are the things that wear out long before the engine goes. I know lots of people who have 300K miles on GM and Ford full-size trucks no problem, but substantial repairs are going to be a possibility for any vehicle over 5-7 years old.
I just want to say that as someone who does not live in SF or Seattle or NYC or wherever, that is a hilarious statement. #Idontwanttomessupmynails Ford trucks are ****ing great. The beater out at the ranch is an '02 F250 2wd with 257000+ miles on it. Best truck I've ever owned.

I went to Planet Ford once looking for a new Expedition. The salesman ' s opening offer was above list. No kidding. There was a classic bait and switch in there, too. IIRC they had all sorts of superfluous crap, like a juice/coffee bar, and stuff for the kiddies, and all sorts of architectural crap... then the mountains of money they must spend on advertising... All that money comes from somewhere that isn't going to be the paychecks, and anybody who throws all that money into putting on a show isn't going to be about honesty and making sure you get best value. I spent 30 minutes with one of their salesmen, working the high pressure tactics like a used car salesman out of a cartoon, and knew then I would never buy anything from them. I knew if I did and was happy, it would only because they managed to fool me.
Yup, basically a bunch of people that don't know much about vehicles ripping FORD. I cannot speak for all FORD designs but I can say that the F-150 and F-250 are unbelievably good vehicles that are made for abuse and are easy to work on if you are so inclined.
I would be all sorts of dubious about a shop that uses this as it's logo: That's the most candyass thing I've ever seen at a dealership.
