If you have GEICO they will do it for free... they even drive to wherever you are! So you can get it fixed while you're at work. They figure it saves them money in the long run to spend the $20 in materials, and the $50 they pay the guy who does it per job instead of paying the $400-$600 for glass plus labor if it spreads out.
My insurance (Costco/Ameriprise) does it for free as many times as it happens (and it's happened about 3 or 4 times). Call your insurance company and ask them if it's covered and if they have preferred places you should use. I've had Safelite do it and they did a pretty good job.
