i'm just saying, i understand why someone would key a double parked car. i also understand why someone double parks. it just raises my blood pressure seeing a perfectly good parking spot go to waste.
I think it would be cool to put a HUGE sticker on the windshield that says something like..."This is what I get for taking two parking spots" I'm talking something that covers up their entire windshield and uses that super sticky tape so it keeps tearing off while they try to peel it... No permanent damage to car, just an inconvenience... Exactly like what they cause...no damage to anyone else's car, but an inconvenience. Those that are parking at the back of the lot taking up two spaces are not a problem IMO.
LOL ride a bike? Sure I'll ride a bike with my 8 kids (neices, nephews, little sisters) in tow... I don't drive a Benz or a Lexus. The fact of the matter is that a Yukon XL is wide. I have a few dings on the door already. It's not like I think I "deserve" an extra parking spot, but I sure as hell will use another one (at the back of the parking lot) if it's available to prevent any further damage.
There is no way to justify keying a car. Plain and simple, it's a cowardly act. If it really bothers you that much, wait for the mothaf*cker and tell him in his face like a man. If you can't wait, obviously it's not that important so just move on. Like someone else said, you could always write them a note, at least that way you can tell them how you feel.
Taking up two spaces is worse than keying a car I think. By taking up two spaces, you're telling everyone........"I'm better than you, my car is more important than your car." Keying a car is a jack ass move Double parking is a pompous jack ass move. If your car is keyed while taking up 2 spots, you deserve it IMO. I had an old roommate that told me a story. He lived in a nice apartment complex in the village. Some jack ass double parked his new SUV in two spaces every single day. Now it wouldn't have been such a problem, except that there weren't that many spaces in the garage. He tried leaving letters: at first, asking the guy not to double park, or at least go to the roof. He still double parked every day. He left a few more notes on the windshield.....each getting angrier. Finally, a threat of keying the SUV if he didn't stop. A few days later, he told me that he came home late one night.....couldn't find a parking spot, and on the third level.......guess what, same guy 2 spots taken up. He said he walked around the SUV 5-6 times making one long continuous spiral key mark. The next day and on................he only took up one spot.
Yeah, that dbl parker is a major jackass, but it wouldn't take much to flush your friend out for a beatdown. I'll bet I could make some $$$ on the large widshield stickers.
what's your justification for him double parking every night, even after numerous attempts at asking him not to?
Ha ha, now people are defending keying AND double parking! Hilarious. My advice? Don't get so attached to a damn car that every percieved "rules infraction" is reason to "fight." As if people don't carry around guns and pepper spray everywhere they go!
How the **** should I know? Maybe he's a major jackass. All I know is the guy is probably sitting on a pile of threatening letters and can very easily call the cops on the matter.
Oh this was 4-5 years ago......nothing came of it. I guess the guy figured he had every chance to park normally. I doubt cops would have done anything anyhow. They probably would have probably said, "Well don't take up two spots!!!" He always printed out the letters on his computer. I seem to remember him saying that he wanted to speak with the guy fact to face, but never actually saw him. I suppose once the handful of angry letters hit the window, the face to face meeting was off anyway.
Yeah I love how all these double parking tools are like be man and say it to the guys face. With the amount of guns that morons have I have I would rather leave a note and have one less bullet hole in my body.
Ok, if some brain-dead a$$-hat parks stupidly, he deserves to feel SOME kind of punitive reaction, but geez, don't damage someone's car. Do what I always tell myself that some day I will do if I get angry enough: hock a major loogie on his door handle!
alright, i would like to apologize to you. in my haste, i took your comments on earlier posts out of context, and missed the first quoted post. i thought you did double park and that's why you were defending them so much. i realize you were just criticizing the vandalism...which i agree with. but if someone is a repeated offender after being warned, i can't say i feel too sorry for his car being keyed.
