Yes, but you should never lose your manhood. You should be looking for ways not to get a mini-van. Don't you understand? Or have you just given up?
If you are going to quote someone, please make a modicum of effort to capture the meaning of their post, instead of a sound bite that says the exact opposite of their position. People should buy the car that best suits their needs. While the good fuel economy and safety issues that I mentioned meet needs, for some people driving a cool car meets other needs. Since I drive a beater, driving a cool car is obviously not one of my priorities.
If you need a SUV or a huge pick up truck to prove your manhood .... you aint got it! I have a 9 yr old daughter and I have an 05 Odyssey, awesome car in many ways. I like it much better than my brother's SUV. The Odyssey gets you 20 miles per gallon and drives like a car. There are so many features to mention. You need to check it out yourself.
Sorry, I didn't mean to knock your coolness knowledge. I didn't know you were that serious. I guess I should have... I'll correct myself: Gutter Snipe knows what cool is and it is not a minivan. He is just like everyone else.
I bought my wife an Odessy, & we kept it about a year. Great rides. Lots of power. Resale is very good. Sold it outright and did not lose money, which is very unsual. Good fuel economy. Had leather, DVD. Toyota has similiar resale value. Why did we sell it? Convinced the wife we needed something that would tow, in addition to hauling a bunch of people, so we got a diesel Excursion. Arrrrr.
geez man, you guys gave me a big fright. I checked my manhood & am glad to see it's still intact. All right, shopping on SUV now.
Yes, my manhood is preserved. Funny thing is, I do notice quite a few guys driving minivans here in the Bay Area, Northern California.
Being an eco freak, I'll have to point out that gas prices will hover around 3 dollars in the summer at California. The Chinese want to drive cars too. I probably won't get one, but it's a nice looking SUV.
