To win a championship we're going to have to beat the Warriors. To beat the Warriors we have to have 5 guys that can switch defend and shoot the 3 all on the court together at the same time for substantial minutes, week over half the minutes.

Capela can't shoot the 3. Capela cannot switch defend against the Warriors without getting beat in bunches with mismatches. And what Capela is excellent at, the pick-and-roll, is where the Warriors defense separates them from the rest of the NBA. They are excellent at defending PnR play. They've proven it over 4 seasons now.

I ain't entertained by 17/12 or 18/18 or even Hardens triple double forties. In entertained by winning basketball in the pressure cooker of the playoffs. And I promise you....That's what Harden, Paul, and PJ (and Capela too) are wanting. And that's what MDA, Morey, Tad, and Tilman come to work every day trying to achieve. Not Capela double-doubles which are a by-product of Harden and our system. Not beating down teams in the regular season...which is but one step to a championship. Everybody in the organization is obsessed with winning a championship....oo they get fired/traded. Everything is about winning a championship! And then winning another one. And another one.

The way to beat the Warriors in the playoffs is to have 5 players on the court at the same time that can all shoot the 3 and switch defend effectively. Any sincere basketballer will have watched the Warriors play in the playoffs enough and knows this is the recipe. My thesis is STILL that Capela isn't good enough at center to win a championship.

The reasoning is simple He can't shoot the 3 to keep Draymond occupied on the perimeter and create maximum space for Harden and Paul to carve. And he can't switch defend Curry, Durant, or Klay effectively.

The evidence all agrees with me and supports my thesis.

I haven't advocated one time to trade for Rubio since we acquired Paul. Add long as Paul is healthy he solves the sameproblems that Rubio would have solved that were preventing us grim winning a championship.

Thon was a suggestion made in 2016 when I knew we were pursuing the possibility. He would have still been on his rookie deal and we could have Noel probably for around $4 million giving us everything Capela is, maybe more. And we'd be out of the tax.

In light of the fact that we still haven't won a championship in the Harden era and without knowing the sequential transactions that would have unfolded if we had traded Capela then, I don't see how you can judge that non-trade as bad.

Especially when you understand that to beat the Warriors you have to have 5 shooters and 5 switch defenders on court together for substantial minutes in a playoff series against them.

Anthony Randolph was a name I pulled up at the request of Bobrek, who apparently believes there no players not in the NBA that can help us more than Capela can to beat the Warriors. He sister hasn't watched Randolph play or didn't know what he's watching when he watches Randolph play.

And you apparently don't know either. Because you're bringing Randolph up again in jest. You either don't know Randolph's game or you don't know what it takes to beat the Warriors.

Randolph is a better switch defender and a far better 3-ball shooter than Capela . If integrated into our system with Harden and Paul he'd help us get past the Warriors. I'd love to have him on this team.
