obviously it was more of a hairline or compression fracture if he isn't wearing a cast at this point.
Rockets would still be on a win streak if this didn't happen. Although Harrell has been stepping up, Capela can't get back soon enough.
This is really encouraging. I'm surprised he's able to do this so soon after the injury. Tells me he's not in much pain, and that he'll be able to retain strength in that leg.
Just need to make sure he doesn't come back too fast and reinjures. Especially if it was an overuse related stress fracture
Blessings in disguise. Capela's injury has just sped up the development on both sides of the ball for Montrezl. In addition has forced a rebound by committee mentality.
At the extent to which an MRI was required to make the diagnosis (over an XR which was negative the night of the injury), you can rest assured that a hairline fibula fracture is the clinical equivalent of a bad bone bruise. Expect him to be back in the earlier range of that 4-6wks mentioned.
Agreed and the competition created by Montrezl's improvment should help Capela play with more aggression and energy when he returns now that another legit rotation big has emerged.
Some people are back within 2 weeks with that type of injury as long as it wasn't snapped in two..... DD
posted this in the game thread earlier: [last nite marv "butt-muncher" albert twice mentioned that the front office is looking to "re-evaluate" capela in another 3-4 weeks. any truth to this or just another one of his many mistakes on the nite? capela's already been out 3 weeks now and the initial timeframe was 4-6 weeks as i recall..]
