I doubt the rockets will even be top 10 defensively this year. Teams that have the size to match up with howard 1 on 1 offensively will OWN houston.

Nope, wrong again. CP3 is a significantly better perimeter shooter than Rose so defenders wouldn't be able to sag off of him.

Who would you have rather had Dirk in his prime or Howard now (prime?)?

Your answer will tell me all I need to know about who I'm dealing with.

Can I answer this and say Dwight Howard. Easy.

I have no idea what you are smoking. With Asik on the floor last season the Rockets were the 7th best defensive team in the NBA. And while the defensive side is closer than the offensive side, Howard is a significant upgrade defensively over Asik.

Can I have both on the same team? Because even in his prime Dirk can't defend nobody and if it wasn't for Tyson Chandler protecting the rim, Dallas wouldn't have beaten the Heats.

Full 48 minutes of rim protection.

Rockets ranked number one defense in regards to efficiency. Obviously pace inflated some of the defensive statistics.

This tells me that Houston will blow out quite a few teams this year.

Too bad your grizzlies don't have an offense.

I hold defense a little higher in regard than you do. Dwight has as big of an effect on the overall offensive end as Dirk. Dwight's a better player in there prime.

Dirks defense was so bad. So bad. And Chandler masked that in Dirks finals win.

Personally, I don't believe CP3 will win a ring because max-making pgs are inferior to max-making SGs/SFs. Sure CP3 is regarded as one of the best players in the league however the reality is he's basically playing against guys at least 3 inches shorter than players like LBJ, Melo and Harden. Imagine a world where everyone is at least 6'5, will CP3 be as effective as he is now? I don't think so, guys like Harden will have a much easier time scoring against and guarding someone who's around 5 inches shorter than he is.

So IMHO this is why CP3, Irving, Wall and Rose will never be champions as long as they make the max, because when the game is on the line they will have the ball and attempt to win, and then they'll run into a brick wall like Lebron, or whoever the new "annointed one" happens to be (Harden? Wiggins?).

I don't think you understand the offensive sets in basketball too well. Durant and Rose would mesh better. They allow one on one matchups for each other. Creating better opportunities for better offensive players.

Chris Paul needs to be more aggressive offensively. If he would up his scoring to the 22/25 ppg range like he can, than I would consider him the best. But he is to passive for as ball dominant as he is.

How exactly does Rose facilitate a 1v1 matchup for Durant better than CP3? Since Rose has no jumper, his defender would be able to sag off him and provide help defense against Durant. Conversely, CP3 is a good 3 pt shooter, and that would force his defender to stay with him. And that would give Durant more freedom.

Who cares who can hit the three at the bigger clip. Give Rose Space for him to drive in the lane and you get layup after layup drill. He also moves without the ball much better than CP3. Is athletically a bigger mismatch for teams who game plan against him. Teams in a 7 game series make adjustments. CP3 under performs in the playoffs. Tell me why that is!

Is that what happened when Lebron gave him tons of space in the playoffs a few years back? A layup drill?

I really don't know how to respond to this. Are you trolling?

    trolling..?

No I am wondering why he got out played by Mike Conley/Tony Parker?

Two players who you would consider on a lower echelon.

Rose killed it in the playoffs against the Heat. Watch again.

Here are Rose's shooting numbers from that series.

    Game 1: 10/22 (45.5%)
    Game 2: 7/23 (30.4%)
    Game 3: 8/19 (42.1%)
    Game 4: 8/27 (29.6%)
    Game 5: 9/29 (31%)

Tell me again...what am I watching for?

    25ppg 8 assist on 45% is a good series.

    He is better than CP3.
