The main problem imo it's his % 3pt. In the playoffs drops every damn time...against GSW he shooted 25%...come on you can't shoot like that. In the playoffs the 60% of his games are like 2/11 or 1/9... stuff like that from 3pt range.. I love Harden but he has to improve the 3pt shooting, if he fix that, he maybe can score 35 pts per game like nothing
well harden isn't considered strictly a shooter. and hes never going to be a 40% 3 pt shooter. hes more of a combo scorer like how lebron is so their 3pt %'s in the playoffs are going to flucuate alot more compared to shooters like steph/klay
I mean no is asking for that, but hes at least got to hit his regular season averag(i think its around35-36%). He could tweak his mechanics in the off season. I honestly think 38% isnt too much to ask from him.
hitting your regular season avg throughout the course of the playoffs typically doesnt happen for guys that aren't considered strictly shooters. it just goes back to the fluctuation i mentioned previously. i don't even think mechanics is even an issue. its just his all around game that is the factor and of course the level of defense of the competition
Eh I get it. But I dont really buy that for him, the difficulty of his step backs were pretty much the same in the regular season. Harden is a top 5 talent in the nba, an MVP. I hate to say it like this but to think he doesnt have the ability to get his 3pt percentage past 31% is unacceptable no matter how you slice it. He can be better and will be.
his splits in the playoffs aren't really that surprising. he can be better definitely but that comes down to just actual execution
Yea and I believe he can and will. Just like in the previous season where he improved, he will improve this season. His step back is not an easy shot, regular season or post season. There are little tweaks there he can work on to get a higher percentage. Like I read(apparently someone heard this on a warriors podcast) that Harden shoots worse stepping back to his right. Theres one area he can improve right there.
If you draw that from my post... proves once again that you have no reading comprehension skills whatsoever... Your posts are a complete waste of time on this board... All your posts could be boiled down to 4 or 5 statements and be done... but instead you plaster them all over the board repeatedly - again and again and again and again... charging in to rescue Harden's rep from all those evil haters... lol Just like everytime someone says something like 'I wish Harden would reduce his turnovers'... you have to go charging in all white knight style and say 'who would you trade him for? Who could have carried this team of scrubs further? blah blah blah...' ...bc you cant deal with any criticism or honest discussion of Harden - you just think everyone should have their head as far up hardens ass as you do... You sir, are worse than all the LOF's rolled into one... bc while they were stupid and irrational in their support of a mediocre player... you make Rockets fan argue against Harden just as a point of logic against your inane demagoguery. When you have something to add to the conversation beyond: A) Harden is the GOAT and never does anything wrong... B) Nobody could have carried the team further... C) Every player we've ever had for Harden to play with in the past is a scrub... and D) Any bad performance by Harden was because all his teammates were scrubs... ...let us know. On second thought - don't bother... it'll just be one of those statements regurgitated in another fashion... ...smh...
how sure are you that Lebron instead of Harden without Love or CP3 with a 6-man rotation can beat the warriors once in 2 tries?
well that certainly has nothing whatsoever to do with anything I said... once again reinforcing that lack of reading comprehension... I see you've opted to respond with an A/B combo - in the form of a question - from the 'vlaurelio list repeated sentiments' again... nothing to do with the conversation... my initial post was actually very praising of Harden - how he's continued to improve... and yet, here you've placed me a position to argue against Harden due to your desire to have everybody simply declare him the GOAT or something... yer a real piece of work, dude...
The only way Harden will surprise me is when he decides to start moving without the ball. More back cuts, less ISO, and more drives to the basket that end in finished instead of looking and expecting the foul to be called. It was so demoralizing watching GS stand around on D because they didn’t have to worry about anyone reading and reacting off the ball which allowed them to keep their legs fresh down the stretch. Meanwhile, HOU was working so hard on the O side and D side because of GS ball movement that we lost all our energy down the stretch.
1) honest question deserves an honest answer 2) aren't we talking about harden's performance in the playoffs especially last 2 games without cp3 against superduper team & refs? just answer? can lebron single handedly beat the warriors once in 2 tries yes or no? if not, please list what Lebron need to improve on
No, of course not... stupid question... if you could bring back MJ or Hakeem in their prime, they probably couldn't beat this GSW team singlehandedly - nobody could... As far as what LeBron neds to improve on... idk... I dont watch Cavs games religiously (havent watched any of the Finals) to have enough insight to dissect Bron's game... I'm a Rockets fan - I watch Rockets games... thats why I'm on a Rockets board talking about the Rockets and things they can do to improve - team moves like trades, areas players can improve, etc... I answered your question... now you do something for me... Go back and read my first post... it was praising harden for continuing to improve - didnt say anything bad, never mentioned LeBron, never said anything about this years post season... I also chastised white knights like you for not allowing for discussions about things he could do to improve... bc i guess in your head, to say someone has an area to improve on is the same as saying they suck and should be traded - it aint the same... and newsflash - aint none of us perfect (not Me, not You, not the great James Harden, etc..) we all have areas we can improve on. seriously, are you like 12 or 13 or something? Am I wasting my time conversing with a child? Please tell me - I've never resorted to blocking someone before... but inquiring minds want to know...
Find easier ways to score so that he can conserve energy and play more consistent defense. Skill-wise, he needs to develop a right-hand drive/finish, he is gone way too long without developing that. But mostly, the improvements he needs to make are strategic.
so if you don't expect even GOAT Lebron to beat GSW isn't expecting Harden to beat GSW INSANELY STUPID? I mean expecting a GOAT player for kmart, lamb, and that pick is INSANELY STUPID
